Why do yall keep responding to SS? He's obviously very ignorant, or just a troll and would be better suited if you just ignored him. Maybe his dumb shite would disappear and he'd find a more productive use of his time.
This. He comes in, gives one response, then dips out. He doesn't even try to hide his trollness anymore

I want to know how many people Lee and Beauregard killed last night.

You are so God damned stupid. Do you really think that's what this is about?

What an odd world we have become.
Mitch is an embarrassment and a disgrace to his family, City and State. He's a legit piece of shite

As a black middle class resident of Orleans Parish, the issue of the statues rarely comes up when I'm with friends.
Most of my friends were happy to see the statue by liberty place monument come down. But as a whole are indifferent about the others.
You would be delusional to think that the power structure of this city is going to change just because those statues were removed. So in my opinion what's the point??
The people who erected those statues wanted to pay homage to their "heroes" of their "noble" cause. I disagree with their cause and those statues don't depict heroes (Another thread

That seems to be the general consensus. Most people black people I have heard talk about it are some what glad they are coming down but didn't really care if they were left up.

I disagree with the pyramids being constructed by using my ancestors, but I don't propose they be torn down

I never thought about that. Though I know they have large cranes that can drive under a 13' restriction, but I don't know how high the cables are.
Got to cut power to the street car. I think it uses a 600 V DC system.
Then you have to remove the cables and maybe some poles.
They would likely have to demo that entire park area too because the crane and equipment is going to ruin the grassy areas.
With how much this and all the security and everything associated with this debacle will cost, how on earth do they justify the expenditures?
Makes zero goddamn sense.

As a middle class white guy, who has lived in this area most of my life, I have never once driven past one of these statues and felt white pride, or even had that thought cross my mind. I would say that is true for most people.

In the meantime we have streets that are not drivable in rich and poor neighborhoods and apparently aren't going to be repaired

I can safely say as a New Orleanian native, I have driven past those statues many times without giving any thought to them. I actually had to research where the Beauregard and Jeff Davis statues were located.

The Liberty Place obelisk was tucked away where nobody saw it anyway.

Absolutely.. has nothing to do with oppressing black folks or Creoles or any other race. and for the life of me, I wish black people would grasp the fact that not all white people owned slaves in those days. The cost of a slave was equivalent to the cost of a Rolls Royce today.
