Marksbury said City Park was sold the land in 1900. Despite the fact the Beauregard monument is across the street from the park, Marksbury said that at the time of the sale, there was no street and the statue and the land were an extension of the park itself.

If this is actually the basis of the lawsuit then I agree with the judge and it's going to be a long week until the statue comes down

As an aside been looking at the posts on fb and clicking on some of the dissidents profiles. These assholes are mostly from out of state. How in the hell do these assholes organize like this, and do they jump from news topic to news topic in areas to keep their liberal shite out there? Social media has made it too easy for assholes with no skin in the game to interject themselves with no repercussions.

This should have been considered before they just decided to cause as much civil unrest as possible. If they would have said they weee gonna replace the monuments with something more up today and retire them to the civil war museum in New Orleans (though I still disagree and they shouldn't be fricked with), this would have had less of an backlash.

this whole shitheap was completely thrown together on a whim and with no real forethought

he may have been tossing the ideas around in his head... then the SC church shooting happened and he struck while the iron was hot

You know, people tend to forget, but there's another prominent statue of General Beauregard in the city...atop his tomb in Old Metairie Cemetary. You pass it every time you get off I-10 at City Park Avenue.

This is awesome. Someone needs to send the take em down retards a reminder that thousands and thousands of people pass by Beauregard on the way into the city, and there is NOTHING they can do about it.
