What Watts did in Mid-South was truly remarkable. I will argue with just about anyone that JYD was one of the most over faces in wrestling history, and the top card booking in Mid-South during his run was some of the best ever from any promotion.

Midsouth Wrestling used to do shows at the St. Bernard Civic Center in the 70s, right?

My Dad proposed to my Mom at an event there.

He most probably deserved every bit of it. And probably started carrying that tennis racket after that.

The best tag team at that time was Ted DiBiase and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams. A combination of great wrestling, strength, and bad-assery. No comic routines with those guys.

When it was the late 60s & early 70s, my father would bring me to The St. Bernard Civic Auditorium, to watch Grizzly Smith & Luke Brown, Cowboy Bill Watts, Waldo Von Erich, & The Greatest Heel of All-time Dr. X
