Mid-South had the first national TV deal actually (even before they became the UWF).

They used to wrestle at the old Teamsters hall in Baton Rouge. Off of Airline Hwy.
927-5317 puts you at ringside.
We were in the first row and actually picked up one of the blades that a wrestler used to cut himself. It was the end of a mechanical pencil. Forget which wrestler it was though. Those were the good old days.

there was georgia florida along with the carolina's
there was vince mcmahons sr territory the wwwf which then became the wwf
there was the territory in kansas city with harley race
pretty sure oregon and washington was a territory
AWA in minnesota with Gagne was another
im sure there were more

Jim Barnett had Georgia Championship wrestling which was the first in TBS.
Jim Crockett had Mid Atlantic which became WCW.
And of course Stu Hart had Stampede in Calgary.

Did they add the Dibiase vs. Flair match, with Murdock busting Dibiase open before the match episode yet? Best angle/double turn in history.
How about the coal miners glove on a pole tuxedo match with Dibiase and Duggan?

My brother, who is 10 years older than I am and one of my uncle's, who is a few years younger than my brother use to live for Mid-South Wrestling.
All my friends used to come to my house to watch mid-south. I'm not sure if it was to watch the show as much as it was to watch my dad. He got into that shite. He'd sit in the recliner and stomp, punch, do headlocks and when the match really got intense he would get up and do semi-moves. It was hilarious. He loved him some wrasslin.
It was funny though. I always thought that if he was the only one who could see the TV you would still know what the "good guy" was doing by watching him.

Do you guys care that wrestling is fake and like a cheesy soap opera? Wrestling is like the most beta shite a man can watch or be interested in. What alpha watches a bunch of dudes fake fighting pursuant to a script? Oh, the type that lives in a trailer and wears blue jean shorts.
The OT needs to shape the frick up. WTF?

You obviously don't get the point of this thread. Most of us in here were young kids and early teens when we had 4 channels to watch. We enjoyed mid south wrestling and the memories it gave us that is pretty much it.

I'm going to need you to take a seat... this might be heartbreaking to you and rock your world....
everything on tv is "fake"

Just remembered something else about my dad. He hated referees. The refs had to play dumb for all the crazy shite to happen in a match.
Dad was a Sunday school teacher and never cursed - EXCEPT during mid-south wrestling. Watching my dad act out the match and curse at the refs was both entertaining and educational for us young kids.

Would often go to the old arena in Loranger with my grandpa to watch mid-south back in the day. Once got to see Andre the Giant in a battle royal
