I adore your little sister and her love of animals. It's not easy to keep a newborn wild animal alive. Great parents and brother too.
Be careful wanting the media involvement. Someone may come and take Tanden.
I read a story about a couple that found and raised a baby otter. It got sickly and they reached out for help from the Audubon zoo and they took it from them.

I'm not 100% certain on this, but I think an adult muskrat is about the size that Tanden is currently. Has to be a nutria.

Yeah, I wouldn't even bring it to a vet I didn't know personally. Years ago the feed store in my area used to sell all the meds you needed to give dogs their shots.

We were talking about this at Christmas yesterday, they tale of Tanden has grown large.

My only advice, find an exotic vet and have him neutered. If she plans on keeping him, it will be easier if he is altered.
If not he may get aggressive when he comes of age.
I had a pet rat once and it was the best pet rodent I had.

There has to be a veterinarian Member of this site who would be willing to see this animal and do whatever he/she thinks Tanden needs.

I say that knowing that the vet may say Tanden needs to be released back into the wild, even as an exotic, or even more extreme measures as such.

It is the next logical step.

There's are some on Craigslist.com that make and sell cages and you could probably get something pretty elaborate as an enclosure. If you could find out if it is completely legal to possess a nutria I'm sure if you posted something on Facebook with a GFM account I bet you'd find many want to contribute and see Tanden raised in a nice atmosphere.
Simply post something like the way this got started here on the forum. Could become a national thing with even having a "Tanden Cam" to wwatch him twenty foru hours a day. Lol.........

Craigslist.com........ LINK

"Tanden Cam" could be seen here possibly.......... LINK
