He was arrested and booked, not formally charged.
My point was valid-he spent a ton of money on lawyer(s) even though he was never formally charged.
My point was that without ever being formally charged, his legal bills are not going to be very high. They arrest him, he makes bail. His lawyer chats some with DA. That's it. No motions, no appearances, no trial prep, no trial...etc.

Obviously not the best idea from a legal standpoint, but flashing your piece to that baw would have settled him down in a hurry.

I see your point, no trial, so less $$$$.
I bet it still tore up $10K, though.

Has anyone found out the Meathead's name? I'm going to put on my investigative Stossel mustache and try to find out...

Did anyone notice that guy's knuckles at the :24 mark? Clearly, stepping out of his car to intimidate the Saab driver wasn't his first mistake in life.

Sounds like there was an accident.
You can't just drive away
You think if the dude in the car called the cops they would demand he stay there and in danger and not to remove himself from the situation if he could?

quote:It's the people like the guy saying he'd shoot a dude who grabbed at his door handle instead of just driving off that make people a little weary of just letting any and everyone own and carry a gun.
People with guns should be less reckless, in general, than they otherwise would be. The stakes are higher.
If you're that reckless and generous with your use of the gun, it stands to reason that you may also be just as reckless when using said gun and who knows who you end up shooting.

But damn there are SO many laws protecting the aggressor in that situation. Pull the gun out too soon and you're f*cked, pull out and threaten the aggressor and you're f*cked. You have to wait until he literally breaks your window or opens your door I guess.
bullshite. As soon as he threatens you, you have the right to draw on him. Plus, he's damaging your property.

I'm such an a-hole. I just sent a message to Schaedler Yesco's facebook page with a link to the video. Hopefully, that guy will get what he deserves....

Bring your handgun into the "rager's" field of view with your right hand.
Unlock the door with your left.
At that point, I seriously doubt that the aggressor wishes to continue.
If he does, he does so at his own peril!

Not wise to escalate a situation if you can at all avoid it. I started carrying a fake gun (looks just like a real 9mm) for this reason. If I absolutely must show it to scare someone off in can do it without worrying about shooting them and having to potentially go to jail or pay big lawyer fees.

Why not just back up and take off but make sure he gets a little nudge from you quarterpanel as you shuffle out of there? You defuse the situation and he gets a little instant karma in the process. If you go off half cocked like that guy did, a little bump from the car is a blessing from the universe considering how much worse it could have been if you had assaulted someone with a firearm and an itchy trigger finger.
