When I was 15 I had a black man to jump in the front seat of my truck, I got jammed at a corner behind another car.
U think u can handle it in a gentlemanly way but once u go thru that kind of situation....
Ps I managed to talk him out of the truck.

well frick me then. I was told by a firearm instructor 6 years ago that Louisiana was not a stand your ground state. I'll edit the misinformation
Posted on 12/31/15 at 8:50 am to SnoopALoop
Wrong ...there are laws protecting the guy in the car. He would have been justified shooting that nut trying to open his door and attack him.

Actually he is 100% fricking wrong. LA does not require you to retreat or look for any means of escape in a situation that calls for deadly force.
You can choose to look for an escape but in a situation where you feel that your life is in danger you can stand your ground.

Now, if he grabs the door handle and tries to get in, you can blow his head clean off, assuming you can't get away. No law says you've got to take an arse-beating or even have hands laid on you.

If you can escape it's in your best interest to do so.

Are you fricking retarded? Louisiana is absolutely a stand your ground state. Why don't you actually research something before you start spewing bull shite misinformation.
Thank you for saving me the time. And these people are so fricking sure of the wrong shite they spew.

Yes, but if you have a means (reasonable) to escape and instead you use deadly force, there is very good chance you will be arrested and criminally charged. It happens every day, look at New Orleans. They have a hard on for citizens with guns.
Now, you may beat the criminal case. It'll just take ever nickel you have.
Then, there's the civil case. You'll probably lose that and that will take every nickel you're ever gonna get.
Is it worth it?

Dude shouldn't be allowed to teach IMO.
My advice to anyone is to do your own research... especially when it involves something like deadly force. Never trust what anyone "says" unless they can back it up with legitimate sources. If you choose to carry a firearm then you should know the laws pertaining to it's use in your state.

Or you could just put the car in park, get out, and choke his arse in front of his wife and kids until he's purple.

I disagree. If I'm in MY vehicle or MY house I'm not running. You come through my door then you better be ready to die.
ETA - in the video you posted I wouldn't just sit there and film though. If I were able to drive off I would... if I was unable to drive off and he opens my door then it's game over.

I was referencing his comment re: firearms training.
I see what you are saying, but as a practical and financial matter, it would be best not kill the frick, if you have another option.

"Just settle down." Typical Saab owner response.

i carry. Glock always with me but if i can i'm escaping. Not willing to deal with killing someone and facing the legal battles that would result.
If i'm in my home and can go out of a back door as someone is banging on my door i will do so and cal lthe police.
If i'm laying in my bed and someone kicks in my door hes a dead man.
If i'm in my car and someone is pulling on a locked door and barely hitting my window as this dude was doing i'm driving away.
If someone runs up and smashes out my window as im parked and is grabbing for me, he's catching lead. Plain and simple.

I do agree w/ this. See my edit above though... if I can reasonably drive off then so be it. But if someone acting like that meathead opens up my truck door then it will be shots fired. At that point I have a reasonable fear for my safety.

Nope. I'll post up at the door with a firearm while calling the police... if he breaches the door then he's a dead man.

While understand Louisiana views homes and autos similarly, a house cannot easily be driven away. Plus, you can't drive your house into a confrontational situation.
I think every lawyer and every current firearms training instructor would agree with my posts.
I know what the letter of the law says, but I'd hate to go broke proving my point.
