While I don't know for sure and what I am about to say is only an assumption, but if he was that important to his family he wouldn't have been living in a church shelter. So the question should be. Why did they allow him to live in a church shelter where he probably lacked resources he would have if he lived with family members, which might have contributed to him out on the street at 2AM selling CDs.
Because he wasn't valuable to them until he got 6 holes poked on him

Because he would frick their children and steal from them.
They only care now because on the advice of attorneys there is a potential for a settlement from the City of Baton Rouge that the racist mayor will gladly fork over.

If they're allowed back on the street, you better believe there will be people following them with cameras just waiting to frame any interaction as a civil rights violation.

It is utterly amazing the sheer amount of willful ignorance there is on gravy's FB page. I asked one person if they would approve of their family member being fired from their job after an investigation revealed they did everything right. The response I got was "but I bet he thinks it was OK for OJ to be sued after he was found innocent." WTF goes through their heads to come up with a response like that. I truly hope that this is a small radical fraction of a much better black community. If not they are completely fricked as a whole

Whew lawds the triggers here are going to be epic.
A black man was shot 6 times for resisting arrest.
JHC I would hope I'm in a city that trains police to handle situations a little better than that. Millenial cops are 1)too overweight to do their job and 2)too scared to spar with black men.

You know the answer if you are honest with yourself.

He was shot 6 times for trying to retrieve a loaded .38 revolver in his right pants pocket.

Yep
I feel like even the people who are supporting them would be overbearing. I'd never want that public of a life, especially as a police officer. I'd just try to move and start over, as much as that would suck.

Go read gravy's FB page. You will find all the Broome voters you can stomach.

Millenial cops
It's 2017 snowflake.
Cops rolled up on him knowing full well who he was. They work that area all the time. Cops talk. When they heard the "CD mane" had a gun, they roll in with the gun out. This isn't the old west. There is no honor code. In a lawful society, the law maintains the advantage.
You live dumb, you die dumb.

If BRPD internal investigations show no violation of policy, these cops will still be fired as soon as Dabadie is gone
Luckily, they have civil service protection.
And the mayor is doing a fantastic job of ensuring the state laws granting that civil service protection will not be changed anytime soon. Those laws were put in place for situations just like this...to protect officers from political retribution for doing their jobs

Triggered by millennial cops and Catholics. You are very suspect.
And shithead was resisting while carrying a loaded pistol.

That guy was gonna be out on a street corner at 2 am selling "CDs" no matter where he lived.
