I'm all carbs, all the time. They are cheap and satisfying. I get my pasta and grape drink from the local stop and rob. I might have diabetes and go the emergency room twice a month...but my diet is on point.

Not bullshite, but I'm definitely not looking very hard for a Diabetes educator considering I've never been overweight.

Wow so you are now just basing your logic on made up assumptions about a fictional person losing interest in a diet.

water is just generally important b/c it also makes you fill more full and if you get dehydrated, your body will seek salt ('alo chips, fries, and fried foods). i'm all about trying to figure out what foods make me feel full, which makes it much easier to pass on shite (knowing i will still fail)

But that can easily extrapolate to a diet that is not sustainable. The 360gm number we threw out there earlier is extreme but leave it there. Thats a shite ton of meat and dairy. You will eventually want potatoes or rice?

Why do just assume that? I do not eat nearly that much protein. Usually about 150-175 grams. I eat very few carbs other than from vegetable sources(no beans or potatoes). I have been doing this for 3 years and it is very sustainable. The only time I really crave any carbs is when drinking or hungover.

I'm genuinely not trying to argue with you, I haven't been keeping up with this thread from start to finish. Who said that 360g of protein would be healthy for a daily intake?

I don't know anyone who would recommend that much protein unless you're on a Michael Phelps/JJ Watt workout program and diet.

Bingo. I eat about 10g of protein a day over my body weight, which would fit in the higher end of this range. And I am at 10g over because I'm currently working on gaining weight.

Sounds like you are looking for some plant sources for nutrients.

One guy mentioned easily eating 120gm at a sitting. I assume a body builder. Thats where I pulled that number.

Ok well for the sake of argument, I think we can throw 360g of protein out the window, because that's absurd. Now, I'm at 320g of carbs a day, but I'm more in the 170g range for protein.

Same can be said of meat and dairy. People always want to "prove" that we were meant to eat meat? Meat is just delicious, but it is as necessary as a soda. You can get nourishment, but you could get calories elsewhere.

I recommended 2g per pound of bodyweight in protein for those that are looking to make the most muscle gains. simple as that and I stand by my statement and 360g of protein is not some extreme amount for somebody looking to put on muscle. Its not. Its at the higher end sure but its not out of the world high.

360g of protein has the same amount of calories as 360g of carbs and is only 1440 cals. When you are like me and are trying to gain muscle as fast as possible or cutting and trying to maintain all of your muscle its the best way(don't need quite that much when cutting)

quote:

LSU alum wannabe

Uh oh.... Cross fit guy? Don't kill me bro! Stay away from the Rhabdo. How old are you? I am 43. My needs and my idea of Gainz ain't gonna be the same.

I don't crossfit douche. I lift heavy arse weights on the basic exercises, I carry heavy shite, i push a heavy arse sled, row, sprint, bodyweight movements(gymnastics based) along with boxing drills. I don't do this all the time as it depends on if I am bulking, cutting or just looking to maintain.

and I am 33 with 3 boys all 5 and under. I also work more than full time and so does my wife so don't come here with the bullshite about i must have massive amounts of time on my hands to be able to work out like this.

Fact is I am not a pussy and I want to feel like I am 18-21 still while staying injury free. So I lift heavy but extremely safe with perfect form, I stretch like crazy, i foam roll and I do a bunch of athletic type exercises.

quote:

I'm not here saying I am some ultra athlete. And I do have cheat meals. But my belief is that where you guys are wrong is in thinking you need the amount of protein you are consuming. 120gm at a sitting was mentioned. Thats outrageous! I hope the guy remains healthy and changes his diet as he ages and his desire for size changes. Otherwise thats gonna be a fat bastard with renal insufficiency. He will look hard in a tank top, and be able to squat or bench like a bastard but he's gonna have a gut with 360gm of protein per day.

120g in a sitting is not outrageous. My body will take hours to digest that and I practice intermittent fasting with only a 4 hour eating window and I do eat 300g right now while I am cutting so I have to heat huge amounts at a time to get it all in.

and no I don't have a gut like the dumb guy assumed. In fact I am right at 185 pounds with 168 of that being lbm so I am under 10% bf according to calipers.

and you assume that I do or will have kidney problems. and guess what....you would be wrong again. I drink 1.5 gallons of water a day, my piss is clear and my kidney functions are perfect along with almost all of my other blood work.

I also eat a lot of protein because carbs give my GI problems unless its sweet potatoes and even those are hit and miss. I eat plenty of veggies. When I am bulking i deal with the GI problems and up my carbs but never really above 300g a day or my stomach feels like a volcano.

Go read shite by martin berkham or daunte trudal and look at the success they have at putting muscle on their clients and what they recommend for protein intake. Go read wendler and others that are the same way.

and I love how you admit you are overweight but love to sit here and argue. With me who is 10%, with mouton who is 8% and with plenty of others that have made way way more progress than you, yet you feel you need to tell us our ways our wrong and your way is right. Look until you can show the results of training people and getting them big and fricking ripped to shreds like the above trainers, I think I will stick to what they have to say.

I am doing intermittent fasting and thats why its so much in one sitting. I love big meals but not usually that much but you gotta do what you gotta do to get the cals in.

and he assumes I am a bodybuilder because I lift weights. I am not. I lift heavy and eat to support my goals. I doubt I will ever reach a point where I stop trying to put on muscle and staying as ripped as possible but that doesnt make me a bodybuilder. Like I said I lift in my garage.
