he World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that men and women obtain 5% of their calories as protein. This would mean 38 grams of protein for a man burning 3000 calories a day and 29 grams for a woman using 2300 calories a day. This quantity of protein is impossible to avoid when daily calorie needs are met by unrefined starches and vegetables. For example, rice alone would provide 71 grams of highly useable protein and white potatoes would provide 64 grams of protein.8

Just throwing that up there.

Just looked this "fact" up.

It's false

WHO: Protein and Amino Acid Requirements in Human Nutrition

quote:

These values for average and safe intakes are about 10% higher than the value of 0.6 g proposed in the 1985 FAO/WHO/UNU report (8)

Derp. And that is defined as the REQUIREMENT, not what is optimal.

I said meat eater as well. Just in general. Paleo being an extreme example. If you aren't a Paleo guy and feel I called you one, I apologize.

You DOUBLED in size big boy. Don't talk about your Momma that way. That woman loves you. Got stretch marks for your sorry arse and you probably dont visit enough because you are in the gym.

well no shite we doubled in size but you are a retard if you think it was because of breast milk. and any so called "scientist" that believes that is a dumb arse too. I can link a hundred studies that show what I am saying is true, in fact the .8 per pound of lbm is from the latest studies. and .8 isnt shite. for a 170 pound male at 10% body fat that's less than 125g a day. I get that in one sitting easily.

You have continued to post up studies that are based on obese, sedentary individuals, not those weight training. I encourage you to read the studies posted by other posters and to open your mind some.

sure your way is fine if your idea of exercise is walking. but you want to gain muscle and actually get ripped not just get "skinny" i.e. skinny fat than you need lots of protein. I dunno if you lift or not but if you do I can promise you are selling your self short in the progress department.

and I don't visit Momma because momma is a pill head not because I am in the gym all the time. In fact I don't go to a gym at all as I built a garage gym to maximize my time with my wife and kids.

can you tell us what your diet is like btw? what do you eat on a daily basis? do you lift weights? whats your BF%?

Look I am a huge advocate of non mainstream dieting approaches and I do want to know more about what you are eating and about what kind of progress you are making in the body comp department and the strength department.

But it is all the fuel that is needed. To grow exponentially that was all you needed.

Why don't you tell us what your diet and workout routine looks like?

Thats a wormhole I won't go down.

This is where most of these doctors go into conspiracy of government and meat and dairy industries. Therefore, there will not be any "peers" who are willing to review.

Very few will attempt to disprove, but none will go along with proving.

The narrative DOES go from some sound reasoning but also into tin-foil hat thinking.

I feel my best when I am sticking to an "80/10/10" type of plan.

I'm not here saying I am some ultra athlete. And I do have cheat meals. But my belief is that where you guys are wrong is in thinking you need the amount of protein you are consuming. 120gm at a sitting was mentioned. Thats outrageous! I hope the guy remains healthy and changes his diet as he ages and his desire for size changes. Otherwise thats gonna be a fat bastard with renal insufficiency. He will look hard in a tank top, and be able to squat or bench like a bastard but he's gonna have a gut with 360gm of protein per day.

I basically waded into a dietary discussion with meatheads. There are plenty of other discussions on here that have had full on Vegans chime in and make you guys sound foolish.

I'm like a Clinton fan on the Poli Board right now. Head is on a SWIVEL!!!

Usually ends up as more of a 70/20/10 though.

You guys are spot on with one thing. Meat IS delicious! that is undeniable.

Actually it was this comment that really made you look like an idiot to me. The guy said he has a home gym in his garage, and you jump to the automatic assumption that he does Crossfit, as if that's a bad thing. You do P90X...I wouldn't start lifting your nose to any other workout program.

Best friend is some dude named Ben. Not important?

BFF is none of your business.

If I knew my BF% I would be mocked if it were high or I would be called a liar if I put something desirable on here.

I AM overweight. I will admit that. But the picture you have in your head of a 300+ pound Simpsons character on a keyboard is far from accurate. But it is because I cheat at the very plans that I am supporting here. If I cheated at the plan you guys follow I would be much larger.

The fact that you guys are going that hard about H/W/BF% says you guys are much younger than me?

Who said 360 grams of protein per day?

Of course he'd have a gut eating 1440 calories in protein alone

K

You do p90x while ignoring the nutritional side of their program. I can show you plenty of studies that definitely show that you'd have better results on a high protein diet. That's while cutting or bulking

But hey, those studies are meaningless because you're wearing a tin foil hat
