why do people really think eating healthy and losing weight are rocket science?

Exactly

its not its pretty damn simple and I have posted it before

1) follow iifym which also means if it goes in your mouth it gets entered into myfitnesspal.

2) go long periods of time without eating so you don't have to eat like a bird.(16-20 hours as a male, 14-16 as female)

3) lift heavy arse weights on a proven program or do a proper bodyweight program. (greyskull lp(beginner) or wendler(intermediatte) or bigger, leaner, stronger(beginner) for lifting and gymnastic bodies or gold medal bodies for body weight)

4) when in the fasted state move around a lot. athletic type movements are great but walking alone is fine, just move your arse.

if you do those 4 things everything else will take care of itself.

I lift heavy arse weights on the basic exercises, I carry heavy shite, i push a heavy arse sled, row, sprint, bodyweight movements(gymnastics based) along with boxing drills.

Sounds great to me??

and I am 33 with 3 boys all 5 and under. I also work more than full time and so does my wife so don't come here with the bullshite about i must have massive amounts of time on my hands to be able to work out like this.

Said nothing about time? Simmer down, damn!

quote:

120g in a sitting is not outrageous. My body will take hours to digest that and I practice intermittent fasting with only a 4 hour eating window and I do eat 300g right now while I am cutting so I have to heat huge amounts at a time to get it all in.

Isn't that a warrior diet? Or heard something like that? Some term, may not be exactly what you follow. You essentially eat one large meal per day? Or give yourself a timeframe to basically gorge yourself on anything within your prescribed foods?

and you assume that I do or will have kidney problems. and guess what....you would be wrong again. I drink 1.5 gallons of water a day, my piss is clear and my kidney functions are perfect along with almost all of my other blood work.

Good for you. I hope all remain that way and you live to a ripe old age. Excess protein can lead to kidney issues, so it is something to always monitor. Just like if you WERE a crossfitter you'd need to be smart and listen to your body. If you are sore as frick its not a great idea to push through. Thats what can lead to rhabdo. Don't have to be crossfit for that.

and I love how you admit you are overweight but love to sit here and argue. With me who is 10%, with mouton who is 8% and with plenty of others that have made way way more progress than you, yet you feel you need to tell us our ways our wrong and your way is right. Look until you can show the results of training people and getting them big and fricking ripped to shreds like the above trainers, I think I will stick to what they have to say.

Never professed to be a trainer. Get ripped to shreds? Most fricked up labwork I have ever seen was a crossfitter and a bodybuilder post show. I'm sure many pharmaceuticals were used and mistakes were made, but...?

similar to the warrior diet but not exactly. I give my self 4 hours to eat my prescribed macros which at this time are crazy low due to me following a psmf style diet(rapid fatloss handbook by lyle mcdonald). I am essentially eating nothing but protein for 2 week periods at a time and then I come off for a few days eating at maintenance levels and a 40/40/20 diet of Protein/Carbs/Fat. So right now I am at 300g protein plus a ton of broccoli and Brussels sprouts plus the small amounts of fats i get and any trace carbs I get. So around 1400 to 1500 cals with 1200 of that coming from protein.

Now please don't take that as what I recommend to normal people because its not. I always recommend if it fits your macros combined with a 16 hour fast and 8 hour like i described in my other post about weight loss being easy. Now if you are like me and carbs start causing GI issues then you should move toward paleo where you still practice iifym but focus a ton on the quality of your food. If you are still having problems then look to cut carbs completely other than veggies and fruits as for a normal person not looking to put on tons of muscle than thats the only types of carbs one needs to be eating anyways as they are the only ones that provide a real nutritional advantage over other macros.

the whole rhabdo scare is way way over blown. Sure some get stupid with stuff and that why i always suggest following a proven program like wendler, starting strength, greyskull etc

as far as kidney problems most of that stems from people eating tons of protein and not drinking enough water while taking steroids. For a normal person who is lifting normally and drinking tons of water it doesnt happen adn like rhabdo the whole scare of hurting your kidneys has been proven to be way way overblown.

I know you didnt but most people who go into the gym are and have zero idea how to push themselves. wasnt really meant towards you.

when I say ripped to shreds I mean sub 10% not sub 5% like a bodybuilder. A bodybuilder going into a show puts his body through living hell to get to where he needs to be. and even natural guys have screwed up blood work right after but it all returns to normal within a few weeks if he/she knows what they are doing and actually cares. and the unnatural lifters....well they dont really care anyways most of the time.

This thread has been highly entertaining.

At the end of the day, what we can all agree on is the government doesn't need to be giving health advice.
