Idk about now but it used to go through campus. By the law school, parade grounds, Indian mounds, pmac and stadium then along the lakes.

On the BR marathon web page they list a max elevation of 137 ft.
Are they running up the ramps at Tiger stadium?
Geography puzzler : Where in BR is 137ft higher than another point on the route?
Tried to search on google terrain map and topo website and could not find any serious elevation contour lines to scope this out.

It went up the “hill” by the old Capitol and then there’s an overpass .. going out and back in. Don’t think it’s that high though? Other than that, it’s super flat.

I don’t think it’s a delta if 137 ft. I think it’s saying the maximum altitude is 137 ft above sea level.

Least we could do is spruce up the city for the race.

One poster on here has averaged 10 miles a day for the past 3 years totaling over 10,000 miles. Your daughter may meet this OT poster during her little race.

Hate to break it to you but marathon runners aren’t flocking to Baton Rouge’s metropolis for a little race/fun weekend.

There are over 5,000 runners from 47 states and 10 countries.

Oh and we had to run through a metal detector to pick up the race packet at the River Center.

I’ve run about 15 marathons in my life. I can tell you almost every big city one has metal detectors at the packet pickup. This isn’t uncommon whatsoever. I even got the wand at the packet pickup at marine corp marathon one year.

Some people enjoy challenging themselves. This is one way to do that.

I did one marathon and really enjoyed doing it, but don’t really have a desire to do another. I could be convinced though.

Because they want to.

Now that said I’m not a dr but I feel like 26 miles is too much for an 8 year old.
