We used to paint stuff like that all the time. That place either has some lazy or shitty painters.

thank you. I know metal and plastic almost never match up perfectly, but this is clearly 3 shades lighter at least. It's pretty clear they moved Torred with the gold pearlescent coat and sprayed. Not to mention they didn't put the bulb in the drivers rear marker light and my homeboy let me know that the other night cause it was hanging under the bumper. Shitty work all around.

If you really want to make a big stink about it, go to their social media page and post the pics and the details that you posted here. At least today you have an easy way to publicly shame them. Just look at what the OT did to that bar in destin.

I'm meeting up with the dealership manager tomorrow. If they don't make it right, i'llndefinitely be taking up formal complaints with Fiat-Chrysler and go from there.

So you would accept this work?

I looked at the pics before reading the text in your first post and immediately saw the problem. They fricked it up, but honestly the only thing I'd expect them to do is fix it (and prioritize it over their other work). If they're doing that, no reason to freak out about it (and also no reason to use that dealership again).

Bumpers are pretty hard to match especially on a butt match like that. You are usually supposed to blend into the fenders or rear panels. Lot's of things can affect the way the color comes out like humidity, the air pressure, flop, etc. and that becomes even worse on a pearl coat like yours.

Ask DLauw if he gets on here and he will tell you the same thing. He owns a pretty large P&B shop here.

While you are at the dealership look at the bumpers on some of the cars on the lot and you will see that even then they don't all match 100%. Especially on a metallic paint. I notice it all the time on newer vehicles. Again, there are lot's of reasons and people never notice it until they have to have one fixed. Do some Googling on P&B forums and you will see paint pros discussing this.

I am not saying your's isn't way off because it is, but I am saying you might have to allow them to blend into the rear panels and trunk to get it just right.

ETA: Thread on it

SO if you had to bring it back to an independent body shop that had done the work would you have expected them to give you a loaner? I didn't thinks so. So why should a dealer? All those cars sitting around are for sale and are not for rent. And, by the way, why did you buy a POS Chrysler product in the first place? And why didn't you bring it back to where you bought it? You can get a rental for about $40 bucks a day yourself. Use some of that. money you saved when you bought it Arse hole.

every dealership have cars that are dealer promo vehicles that are just for cases like this. And i bought the car out of state(much better deals in Texas than in Mississippi) So that's not an option. And I would fully expect a body shop to pay for a rental if they fricked up a repair.
