Let me try to explain.... doctors are saying that cte comes from thousands maybe even tens of thousands of non concussive hits. So does that mean if I bump into someone in the hallway 1000 times I'm at risk? Maybe. What about distance runners? Do their thousands of heavy footstrikes have an impact? Maybe. Do kids blocking and pushing against each other put them at risk? Maybe.

My point is that they don't have a clue what constitutes at risk behavior at this time.

Let me explain.

You are from Texas, and have asked me to repeat the English language.

You are probably 99% Mexican.

Build my wall.

Winter is coming.

How many fingers am I holding up?

Did you play youth sports/football?

Do you think you are Batman?

-shines lights at each pupil to check reactivity-

-considering breathilizer as next diagnostic test-

My boy started tackle at 7. They teach how to tackle without getting concussed so by the time they reach middle school it will be second nature to them.

People do realize that tackling with your head up won't end concussions, right? It's like that's the only way players get concussions...

And the whole "just teach them proper technique" crowd is ridiculous as well. There's people who make a living playing football who know "proper technique" yet they all tend to drop their head every once in a while. Why? Because it's a natural human reaction when contact is about to be made. You can teach it all you want, but it won't stop it from happening

I'm 100% all for better coaching and teaching techniques and all that, but some people talk about it like it's just that simple and players will never get concussions if they keep their head up

You tackle with your head up so you don't end up eating dinner through a straw the rest of your life.

You are right on that.

Obviously

My point was more towards the people that just scream "teach better technique" and it will fix everything. And that people will still drop their heads no matter how much you teach them

The better conditioned athletes aren't taking as much abuse. I recognize your point and that every player is at risk

If you are this big of a pussy I doubt your kid would be good at football anyway. The apple doesn't fall far from the labia.
