Living in Texas it is a cultish thing for their little ones to strap on the helmet and pads and begin full contact at an early age. Knowing what we do now, we are holding ours out until they reach an age where it is school-sanctioned and their bodies have developed more.
6-12 year olds should not be in pads.....

watch Friday night tykes (I think that is the name of the show) will definitely make you not want to participate in LLF in Texas

Keep them inside, it's the only safe thing to do.

You can have them on the football field tackling each other or on the streets smoking dope and learning how to pull out. Which one do you think is more harmful to their future?

The issue with holding them out that long is by them starting at 12, most of the kids have been playing at least 4 years and are way stronger and more advanced.

I had 2 girls on my 9/10 year old team that would kick the shite out of your pussified kids.

have you had brain scans? if not how can you know?
Posted on 12/7/15 at 3:19 pm to CharlesLSU
6? ok maybe not. 12? why the hell not?
Posted on 12/7/15 at 3:20 pm to CharlesLSU
Thats an early age for full contact. At that age its about fundamentals, which can be learned without full contact.

Your tone suggests your neighbors have relentlessly harassed and savagely assaulted you with their words for many many years.

Have you ever seen 5 and 6 year olds hit? My kid has a greater risk of getting brain damage running through the house on the wood floors in his socks and busting his arse.

I let my 7 year old play this year. He wasn't a fan of contact so he faired well and I am confident no brain damage occurred. Not sure if we will continue to let him play though. CTE is a concern and he will start hitting more frequently and harder each year.
