Am I naïve enough to think there will be no 12-17 year olds running around? No, I am not.

Are you naïve enough to think that LPSO and DSPD will fail to provide far more adequate police presence in comparison to what goes on at Citiplace and Perkins Rowe?

I can remember watching an outright flash-mob riot break out in front of Citiplace one night on Halloween when an ex-girlfriend and I had done a double-feature special they talked about. We were walking out and the manager pointed towards the front doors and warned us to be careful when we were leaving.

I watched a BRPD officer get kicked Double-Dragon-style in the back as he was trying to handcuff a 13 year old by another 13 year old, and then the partially handcuffed 13 year old wriggled free from his grasp and took off running into a car to leave.

With a handcuff still cuffed around one wrist.

I looked over at the manager and said, "We aren't leaving." He looked at me confused and I said, "We'll be staying in here until that shite show is over with out there."

If you think that's going to be allowed to occur-or that kids will do that out in LP-you're confused on multiple counts. We can leave it at that.

Funny, when I go to the theater there is barely anyone there...

There's a Hobby Lobby and a medical facility right off Oneal Ln and another Hobby Lobby again off College. Tough to believe we need that many Hobby Lobby's. fricking Target and Lowes right off of Millerville. Would literally take just a few minutes to get to some of these same stores from the Juban road exit as long as you're not trying to get there during rush hours. But would be nice to go to one area and get access to all these stores plus the ones that are already there.

I know the great debate from reading the OT - B.R. vs. Livingston Parish as a whole. As an outsider deciding on which area to move to, I moved to Livingston instead of Baton Rouge simply because of the rise in crime and the horrible public school situation. (Kids go/will go to private school, but like the option of public should the need arise) With more retailer/restaurants opening up in Juban, I will be more inclined to stay local instead of going to B.R. No hate towards B.R. at all - I love B.R., just don't want the rising crime or sub-par school system to have any effect on my life or property value. Same reason I left NOLA for Mandeville a little over a decade ago.

Just passed it on the interstate. It looks nothing like the initial pictures back when they planned it in 2005. They blew it.

Now the guess is which two chain steak joints will take their places alongside OG.

Dude I was 23 or 24 years old I wanna say. This was well over 10 years ago. Which should make you think: BR's had those types of problems for 10 years and your Union-dominated Police Department has done nothing to curb or quell them.

The LP was selling booze on Sunday before EBR.

Do you think people in Cleveland want to send their kids to public schools in Cleveland? Hell no! The OT Ballers live in Hudson and send their kids to Hudson schools.

It's the same thing in most major cities. People with means either send their kids to private schools or they purposefully live in good school districts while avoiding bad ones. The difference is that up north, schools are basically segregated. So, despite being in the same school system, individual schools can suck or be outstanding based on the neighborhood they draw from, and that's ok because they don't have the DOJ watching them like a hawk. Blacks and Hispanics go to shite districts with the whites and Asians in good districts, but all in the same school system. That's not the way it's allowed to be in the South.

Most of which is a fricken parking lot.

I hate how people spew smart development crap, and then end up building the same thing over and over again. I would kick the Siegen Marketplace developer in the teeth if I could. Who designs an entire development with one damn stop light in and out of it.

Have an upvote sir. One of the main reasons for the issues we have throughout our state today.

You're comparing a shopping center with a Home Depot and Hobby Lobby in it to Perkins Rowe. They just aren't the same types of shopping centers. The one similarity is a movie theater.

And if you say the point is not to bring in people from EBR but to keep LP people out of EBR, then I'm all for it.

If im not mistaken, Movie Taverns policy is if you aren't at least 17 years old, you have to accompanied by an adult 21 or older

I love all of the responses putting down the LP. You would think these posers shopped in Beverly Hills, not that craphole called Perkins Row. So sad.

Why do they need 480 hotel rooms in Livingston parish?

From my travels on the roads of America, I cannot figure out why so many hotels at every interstate crossing 10 miles apart manage to stay open. Overhead must be low or they are dealing drugs and prostitution.

I'd love to know how the numbers work. I understand the traffic coming off, but I rarely see them full and as I mentioned, there is usually 500 more rooms 3 miles down the interstate and those aren't full either.
