New house 4 years ago, kitchen / laundry appliances were purchases planned as upscale longer term use. Clothes washer cratered, did a 500 dollar repair service, and after 6 months cratered again and repair service sez just buy a new one.

Last week top of the line Bocsht drawer type microwave, magnetron fails, repair parts and labor would be 650 on a 2000 dollar machine. Research shows two class action suits on that machine that are paying off the typical pennies on the dollar. The drawer style was specific for wife's use who is wheel chair bound.

Microwave fix, is a 109 dollar countertop unit that requires one touch to operate versus the Bocsht 6 touches to open close ,set time, open close to remove.

There is a bunch of garbage out there that is sold as assistive appliances

The cost to fix the new modern ones is ridiculous
You are better off buying a new one

Appliances are a paradox. The cheapo ones last the longest

Had the same issue with a Folox watch once. I think the Bocsht line is from Russia, they fail because the military strips out half the microchips at the border to use in missiles.

That sucks to hear. I just bought a Bosch 500 series dishwasher. It’s super quiet so I hope it stays a bit.

I can confirm lower mid price suck as well. $800 dishwasher new after 2016 flood crapped out. Changed the board in it once for $110 and did the button dance to reset multiple times. Replaced with a basicish $500 unit.

Bought a Thermador dishwasher. Supposed to be top of the line. $1200, quiet and washes dishes well. Drying dishes is where the issue is. It relies on the heat from the hot water to dry. It doesn’t work. Have to let them air dry. Cheap ain’t good, and good ain’t cheap. And good ain’t good anymore
