I just put a belt on my 4 year old dryer, did it myself as everyone I called was a week out on appointments.
4 year old $11,000 fridge, LED lights keep crapping out every few months, and they’re wired in series, each time one fails they all go dark.

You have a sealing issue. Make sure yours doors and drawers close completely. The bottom freezer door got off tracks.

I did home inspections in Albuquerque for a couple of years. I Inspected a home built in the 1950s, a couple lived there from when it was built to their death. It was a well maintained time capsule.
Long story short, all appliances were original to the home, and they all worked perfectly. It was weird writing that report up.

My fridge, dishwasher and dryer are 25 y/o. I've spent less than $200 maintenance on them. Been lucky

3 years ago went shopping for a propane gas stove. (oven went out in the previous one after 5 years, no ignitor board available)
all the newer ones had a "gas shutoff" electronic valve. aka power off, no workie. it's a fricking gas stove!
so I bought an Imperial 24 commercial stove for $3000. no electric required, all parts available, those weird things called pilot lights instead of ignitors. Solid stainless, and cast iron. (weighs almost 400 lbs)
even came with a repair/parts manual
best appliance I have ever bought.
and did my own commercial level install
this thing will outlast my grandkids

We’ve learned our lesson on modern appliances. We bought what we were told was the “top of the line” Samsung refrigerator with all the bells & whistles.
Didn’t last five years. When it crapped out, the service man who came to look at it was astonished it had lasted that long.
Same thing with dishwashers. Our first dishwasher, a Whirlpool built in the 90s, lasted like 15 years. In the lat 10 years were on our third dishwasher since it went out. I can’t remember the first one we tried but I know the second one was Bosch, again supposedly the “top of the line”. Didn’t last but about 3 years.
What I’ve come to understand is the more features an appliance has, the higher the odds are it will crap out quickly. I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for. And I don’t mind paying more for a product if that proves more value. But when it comes to appliances, the saying “you get what you pay for” is questionable at best now.

For appliances especially ones that spin and shake like dishwashers and washers and dryers why on Earth would you want anything except hardcore mechanical parts? The idea of tiny solder joints and circuit boards that get shaked the frick up daily..by definition..is the dumbest thing ever.

Overall modern, and especially "luxury" appliances are a total scam. Useless features masquerading as "luxury" are idiotic.
Oh wow a window so you can see what's in your fridge, wowwwwwwwwwwwwww,,,, so luxurious i'm creaming my pants. Now you have to keep the window clean and the fridge clean.
Ohhh wowwwwwwwwww a water faucet on the outside of your fridge 5' away from the sinnk. Wowwwwwwwwwwwww so luxurious.... now it doesn't work and you get to pay some dilrod $1200 to fix it.
Wowwwww an ice maker that never worked from the day Lowe's delivered, good luck getting someone out to look at it. Wowwwwwwww so luxurious never seen that before.
It's time we realized not every middle aged middle class ding-dong is "rich" and needs "luxury". It's a f***cking fridge. Does it keep your lunch meat cold and prevent you from getting salmonella? Good now stfu and go eat your sandwich on your artisan bread.
I've been rehabbing this house for a while now and I'm sick of all of it. Especially the Madison Avenue created demand for "luxury". How stupid are people???
