Let all the kids take multiple hits off your bong. Gotta medicate to suppress their memories.

The dog was "owned" by two brothers, ages 8 & 13.

Other neighborhood kids were in their front yard playing.

The father in the story is the boys' father, who was home at the time and came outside when he heard the commotion.

He already ran over it. Hitting it with a shovel won't help.

Tell them you're sorry. It's really not that big of a deal. Kids need to learn to live with loss anyway. You did them a favor.

Not really much you can do, although it doesn't seem like it was your fault. If you order one of these or something similar, it would be a nice gesture.

go get em a puppy man and they need to keep the dog in the yard and you need to slow down and or pay attention, I live in a neighborhood full of families their kids and dogs, you cannot speed around here or it will just end bad one day.
Sorry but go get them a dog

I GOT IT! Have the dog stuffed and posed into a playful position and then give it to the kids. Problem: solved.

Who would have thought a thread about running over a kid's dog could turn so damned funny?

I don't know that I'd do anything to permanently remind them of it. Kids are pretty resilient, and they'll come to understand it was an accident.
Definitely don't be a jerk and buy them a leash for the old subtle message.
