Cons:
Lazy transmission (I usually drove in manual mode)
Lack of tech compared to every other manufacturer
Too little leg room in back seat for adults to be comfortable
Poor MPG relative to power and truck size (18.5 MPG mixed)
More road noise than average truck
Stiff ride (but it’s an off road truck, so...)
MPG would drop down to 13-14 MPG when towing my boat (3,000 Lbs) or little camping trailer (1500 Lbs)
Composite bed is like a new teflon frying pan
Composite bed feels cheap
Composite bed lets water in from multiple locations
Janky touch screen with sh!tty apps
Poor quality backup camera

Pros:
Size is great for trails
Size is great for city driving & parking
TRD off road comes with good off road features
Looks sharp
Resale Value is AMAZING (I gave $34.5 new and got $31 on trade in after 2 years and 27K miles)

I don’t regret buying the Tacoma as it satisfied my nostalgia for a small truck (1st vehicle was 86 Toyota pickup) and the resale value was better than I could have imagined. I could have sold it for $33K, but trading was much less of a hassle.

However, I wasn’t prepared for the underwhelming power and gas mileage. My buddies with full size trucks get the same or better...and full size trucks are more comfortable & capable. The Tacoma was my first vehicle to have a backup camera, so I thought it was the tits until seeing other folks’ cameras.

The Tacoma definitely fills a niche for baws who live in the city but want a vehicle to take to the woods on weekends. And I suppose it would be a solid truck for college aged folks.

But the Tacoma is not the best option if you pull a boat/camper/trailer, have kids, want the newest cool tech, want to feel the torque, or want a more plush vehicle.

I would give the Tacoma a Baw Rating of 6.5 out of 10.

So it's not a good vehicle for women.

I know lots of guys pulling big boats with the Tacoma and have well over 100k miles with no major problems.

I didn’t suggest there would be problems.
They just don’t have enough torque unless you wind them up to about 4,500 RPMs.

Glad you like yours.

I didn’t hate mine. It’s just “not as much truck” as one can get in a full size for similar money.

Removing the 4l v6 completely changed the driving characteristics. I had a 2017 Taco and traded it for a 2017 4Runner Offroad Premium. Do not regret it...

I’ve heard the exact same thing from 2 4Runner owners.

I have a 2004 with 114k miles. I drive it just sometimes. But I am old and don’t do much.

you can lease one for around $200-250, V6 4x4. Leasehakr.com

Fullsize truck it too big, I feel like I'm in a boat, cant fit in garage, or parking spots. Unless you are towing a tractor or big arse boat,RV, what's the point. The back seat is small though.

THIS!!!
Traded in my 2017 Ram for a 2020 Tundra...paid a good bit more than a similar Ram would've cost, but here's what I had on my OLD Ram that isn't on the new Tundra:

Remote start on keyfob
Power rear window (Tundra's you have to crawl back there and open it by hand)
Dual zone A/C
Auto up and down on all windows (Tundra, only driver window down)
Power side mirror fold in and out
Radio sucks
Apps are awful
and the list goes on.
SHould have stuck with Ram

Does a 2020 Tundra not have Android Auto / CarPlay?

Once you have that it kind of makes a lot of other stuff irrelevant.

So you think $1,700 depreciation per year for a new car is getting fricked?

Why would you buy a small truck to tow a boat or to put grownups in the back?? Just get a man sized truck.
Your decision making is questionable.

Toyota has just been offering it in certain models in recent years. Not sure if it’s hit the Tundras yet.

Toyota has long been later than other makers integrating tech into their cars.

You forgot....RELIABILITY! Your old Ram would’ve been in the shop multiple times. They suck
