have heard Madison is more liberal than other parts of Mississippi. Is this true?
Even if true, it’s still 10x more conservative than 99% of the rest of the country…jeez dude, just move to Kabul if you really want conservative

Overall, Jackson Metro is a great place to raise a family. It doesn’t matter whether you’re in Madison, Florence, Brandon, Pearl, Clinton, or wherever. It beats Baton Rouge and it’s not even close. Just don’t live in the city of Jackson

What issues are going on at Germantown HS??
go to Jackson Jambalaya and search for Germantown High and Middle. There are several videos to fights involving numerous thugs in the halls of the school. Two of my best buds have kids who graduated from Germantown this year, they both expressed the demographic makeup of the graduating class didn't seem to jive with demographic makeup of the Gluckstadt area. They theorized there were a decent number of "out of district" students.
I know at NWR we do have several out of district students.

I’ve always thought that Madison, Hattiesburg, Olive Branch and Ocean Springs are the most desirable places to live in MS.
I’d pick Hernando over Olive Branch. Just based on it being a small town with little traffic…. But close to everything.
Tupelo is just as good as any of those. The amazing thing though… the county schools in Lee county are better than Tupelo. Not to say Tupelo is bad, the county is just better.

There is a huge apartment complex across the city limits. Line jumpers and the superintendent does nothing.
You can guess the obvious reason

I live in Brandon
Brandon 39042 is in good shape, far enough Jxn to keep out much of the criminal element and nothing really encroaching on it. Also, other than Amphitheater, there is nothing to really draw in many undesirables and the Amphitheater usually has Rock and Country acts.
I'm in Reservoir 39047, but bailing (retiring) within three years.

Kids that should be going to canton are somehow skirting rules and they are getting to go to Germantown HS. Something about lying and saying they are living with a family member and using their address to get in. That’s the story I heard at least

Concur completely. Not a good pick for Superintendent.

This is what my buddies tell me.

Go for the promotion. Cost of living will be lower. MS at least has enough sense not to elect a democratic governor. The blacks aren’t as radical as ours in our bigger cities
Drawbacks will be the uppity Ole Miss fans and less access to good crawfish and seafood.

Dr. Seals has allowed the staffing of the department that handles verifications to lapse. Fewer staff than a few years ago. Let's just say its not a priority.
Don't bring her up around the police. The district tries to keep the police out of everything if at all possible.

Yes, Madison is nice. Brandon is also nice and would have cheaper homes.

I'd say it's a wash, with maybe a slight edge going to prairieville.

You still gonna have that... maybe not the flooding
Replace flooding with tornadoes.

I always laugh at people glad to escape Louisiana yet move to somewhere in MS, AL, or AR.
That should tell you how bad Louisiana is.

Well, there is one edge to Prairieville.
Culture.
You are one hour from New Orleans if not shorter. Burb of Baton Rouge. That means LSU fun, great restaurants, and similar amenities. You can bebop back and forth to either town for concerts, sports, etc.
Madison? You are stuck with Jackson culture. The Brandon ampitheatre gets decent concerts but that's about it. There aren't that many nice restaurants in the area. Madison doesn't really have any nice restaurants besides Bonefish while Ridgeland probably has six and the various Mexican, Oriental, and sammich places.
If you like sports, welcome to a 2/1 to three hour drive. Dog parks? Forget it. The only one by the Rez is crap. Most of the parks in the area suck when compared to other cities.
The Rez is nice. You can have a lot of fun with a boat on the Rez and the "upper lake".

Madisonville, Louisiana CRUSHES Madison, Mississippi. It's not even close.

Lived in Castlewoods Country Club for a time, which is in the Brandon/Flowood area.
Nice place, low COL, solid golf course.
