re: Fiberglass pools in the Lafayette area - GusMcRae
I've had both kinds. I put in a fiberglass with Brandon at Cajun Pools one year ago. FG is cheaper. Gunite will give you more design options... your imagination and money are the only limitations. Maintenance on FG is easier. Oh... and don't think the price of the pool is the end of it! ...

If you want anyone to take your opinion seriously, try spelling, grammar, and English.
I'm not offended at all by those statues. In fact I could care less. What I find pathetic is that everyone is up in arms over some peices of carved rock.
-you mean " couldn't care less" -you ...

re: Help me pick out my new grill. - GusMcRae
I have a Spirit which I keep next to my BGE for when I don't feel like going through the process of making a fire for the BGE. I even use the Spirit to light my chimney starter coals for the BGE. It's been great I find I grill a lot more often having the option of gas....
Yes, you'll have perfect rice, but with a rice cooker, your rice can be kept warm for a long time and sometimes you need that.
C'mon Darla. If it's gumbo, etouffee, steak gravy, that shite will be hot enough. If you really need the rice hotter, throw a few scoops in a bowl, put a ...

re: What's the deal with cilantro? - GusMcRae
It's called a 'Super Taster'. It's really a thing. About 10% of the population fall into this group, and cilantro is a huge turn-off to this group. It doesn't make them better or worse than other foodies, but they will not be converted. It's a genetic thing. Look it up....

re: Need a new rice cooker.....What should I buy? Vintage Hitachi? - GusMcRae
This is thread hijack, but my grandmother from Morganza taught me how to cook rice, and its really easy. This is how I do it: Obtain any pot that has a well fitting lid. A thicker pot is preferable, but any will do. Put twice as much water as rice in the pot... one coffee cup of rice, two c...

re: HELP me choose a Smoker - GusMcRae
Once you get the hang of an Egg, it's effortless. You can do a lot on a BGE... smoking, direct grilling, baking. It will stay at 225 for 12 hours without moving, or I can get it up to inferno type temps for something like greek kabobs....
