re: Would you be ok with your property taxes increasing - GusMcRae
That's a big IF. I wouldn't mind paying a few hundred dollars more each year, but it's not going to fix our problems, so I would never vote for it. I don't plan on spending the rest of my life in LA. Once upon a time I did, but now I'm just waiting to make a profit on my house. There is too...

re: Any chance Godcahux returns? - GusMcRae
Davon comes from a rough upbringing. I'm sure many of you remember the stories. Dude didn't know where his next meal was coming from. Sure he's being well taken care of at LSU, but I'm sure the $$$ is attractive and would help his family. My fear, is with these type of kids they get taken adva...
Do you take the raw whole hen and throw it into a pot to make the stock, then pull off the meat and discard the bones/skin? Assuming I have all the time in the world, what makes the BEST gumbo?
Close to the correct answer. I make the roux in a black iron (of course). Whil...

re: Restaurant in Lafayette - GusMcRae
Pamplona's is one of the best restaurants in Lafayette, and is downtown. Excellent bar, and you can try a little or a lot, because it is tapas. They have full entrees, too, but you can taste a lot going the tapas route. ...

re: Half Shell Oyster House in Lafayette - GusMcRae
FWIW, Hook & Boil in Broussard has some of the best raw oysters in Lafayette, I recently discovered. I've been the last couple of weekends, and am now a huge fan. I've followed the oysters up with boiled dungeness crabs, which I had no idea how good they could be......
