seems like you should have a solid game plan for this already in place. A 50k is no casual stroll.

He knows what he is going to do.

And yes it was merely a brag thread and attention grab.

I see the fatties are showing up with their excuses

I was pretty much out of running all winter and showed up at Grasslands 50 mile 20 lbs too heavy with only 4 training runs over 10 miles in the prior 3 months

Training for Cactus Rose 100 is off to a much better start.

My motivation to run long distances has been zilch. And it wasn't helped by a knee injury this spring.

Stepped on the scale Monday and saw a number I hadn't seen in 8 years. That motivated me to start eating better, drinking less and hopefully running more. Maybe I can get in shape this summer for a fall race. But, fall races are tough for me because of football season.

I wonder what their reasoning is for running such a race.

In my case, I ran 50K because I'm not quite ready for 100K yet!

I exercise primarily for health and aesthetic benefits. I don't see a 30+ mile race providing either. To each his own though.

Spent a few days hiking in Bryce...hope you're already there or near there because it takes a few days to adjust to being 8000+ feet above sea level.

Exactly. Will some large mean person with a stick be chasing you for that long?

I live at 7000+ ft only 4 hours from Bryce, but you're right, when I first moved, it was months before I fully adjusted.

its a 50k people

I realize that the OT is full of bros and/or fatties that think running a mile is crazy, but 50ks are pretty popular among the trail running communities

50k is the shortest ultra distance

real subtle, you're prepared to a run 50k in Bryce Canyon but want to run it through this dumpster for last minute checks?

BTW: still a lot of nuclear fallout there, congrats on the early demise

Nipples. Never forget the nipples.

I just put band-aids on mine when I ran marathons. Vasoline and all the other stuff didn't work.

Better you than me. Enjoy, and try not to die. That's a long way.
