No way in hell I'd spend two months or even one months income on a ring. Of course, this will vary depending on income. My brother many years back ordered his future wife a 30,000 dollar ring. When he told that he picked one out she replied it better not be under $10,000 . Next morning he cancelled the order a picked her a $1,500 ring.
