yea id say your description is pretty close. FWIW I don't consider rock bottom to be death, I look at it as being as low as one can possibly be while living.

It sounds like medic is more in a rut though with the not being where he wants to be in life

I've seen this happen to a lot of people once they get out of college and the fun stops and the real world sets in.

Probably not "rock bottom" but after a bad break up and no direction in my life pretty much all of 2006 was horribly depressing.

And what stopped you from giving up?

I felt like a change of scenery would do me some good. Moved to Orlando and reenrolled in college. Spent the next year getting my life and myself back on track. Made good grades, lost 45 pounds of fat, cut off communication with anyone that was bringing me down, and had a renewed enthusiasm for life that sticks with me today.

If I had to give a simple solution it would be to take better care of yourself mentally and physically. Exercise and the power of positive thinking are the two of the best things anyone can do for themselves.

I had a very public verbal confrontation with the district attorney for Austin county Texas. I was in the right and defending myself. The DA and a cop got together and got there story straight and said I threatened the cop. It was a lie. I served ten months in jail for a fricking lie

Rock bottom is your coke habit going from doing gator tails on your granite counter tops to sucking dick for rock.

I can't believe a district attorney and a cop would pull a stunt like that. You have lessened my faith in our judicial system.

If you told a friend that, they could call 911 and have you committed

What keeps you from giving up? The glory of GOD. And you want a f'up life. Come walk in my shoes for a day. Lost my mother when I was 6 months old. Had a dad that didn't give a crap. My friends dads raised me and it don't stop there. Married an alcoholic now divorced and raising 2 kids by myself. My youngest. Never over weight, always ate sort of healthy. Type 1 diabetic. Diabetics does not run in none of our families. Where that crap came from? No one knows. He is 13 years old 6' tall 145lbs. Wears size 13 shoe. That's just the big stuff. I call him mingo when he plays football. This is just some of the big stuff. The little crap eats at you every week. But I'm a winner. I have not stuck a pistol in my mouth.
