Bro, you need to watch the movie Friday....when pops told Craig, " you win some and you will lose some, but you live you live to fight another day"...

Take those words to heart, and each day will get better and better!

I'm not saying you aren't going through something bad... But when I go through little ruts, I think to myself how blessed I am to be healthy, alive, great job, husband, family... Appreciate what you have. It could be so much worse. You could be a 5 year old with cancer fighting to survive....

Volunteer at a children's hospital, trust me it will put your life into perspective. Find a hobby and/or change what you don't like.... Small changes everyday = big changes in the long run.

Man I don't know how y'all can post your stories here. Maybe the OT won't throw all yours back in your face in the future. But props to all of you who had the courage

But I've been going through the absolute worst months of my life here lately. I'm also not going to tell what I've done to get through it. But I will never kill myself because I would never put my son through that kind of pain. And medic, you've got to keep that in mind. You could probably start a thread about how painful it was for people who lost their parents before it was time and hear some things that would really make you reconsider your thoughts on running off the road. And I'm always here to share my story off the board

That's stupid

You don't know what people have gone through and how it impacted them

This is probably the most respectable thing that I've ever seen you post, and I don't mean that in a bad way.

In your defense, a lot of people on here know who you are and I don't blame you for not wanting to talk about it. Everything gets thrown up in your face. You catch hell for everything.

When someone, even someone that I don't know, is contemplating suicide it scares me. I've lost several friends to suicide ( from my druggie days), and it only destroys the lives of the people that love you. And trust me, regardless of what you think, there is someone out there that loves you.

Like I said earlier, I'm willing to be a friend and listen to a complete stranger if it keeps them from killing themselves. I've been going through hell lately. I have a pistol sitting on the table next to me as we speak. I've never thought of pulling the trigger on myself. It would destroy my parents. I'm not that selfish. The only way this gun is getting discharged is if my druggie ex comes over and starts throwing me around the room again like he did earlier this week.

It may not mean shite to you, but you just earned my respect.

Sounds like you've been around Walt recently. Distance yourself from him.

I'm sure there's been a cpl times in my life that most people would consider "rock bottom", but when shite is bad I realize that it pretty much has to get better and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and while I am not religious, I have faith that everything will be okay and just plug away one day at a time and don't worry about anything.

Honestly, there are times when I didn't give a shite if I live or die, but I would never intentionally kill myself because I wouldn't put my Mother, Grandfather, Sister or SO thru having to bury me.

If it weren't for them, I'm pretty sure I'd have unintentionally killed myself thru even more reckless behavior than I already have at times.

If I were to ever become an invalid/paralyzed/vegetable/dementia/etc. I have made "arrangements" to be euthanized. That's the only way I would intentionally "take the easy way out".

I've gone through some bad, depressing patches like everyone here.

As bad as it has gotten, those pieces of time made me a much stronger person and gave me the strength and patience to deal with what lies ahead.

Life is not always easy, but the difficult times don't last.

I would encourage you to reach out to true friends and family members. Getting in touch with your spiritual side is also a good idea.

If you want, you can contact me.

Thank you

I'd share if I knew I wouldn't be made fun of but I will. I just know that it always gets better but sometimes we need help

I had an uncle commit suicide. He left behind a wife and three children. It was absolutely traumatic

And I've threatened to call 911 on a friend that was threatening suicide. It's not to be taken lightly

I wish people would get it out of their head that it's selfish. It may seem like that to those of us left behind. But like medic said, he feels like a complete burden on everyone. And that is often someone's motivation for killing themself. They feel they are relieving their family of the burden of caring for them or whatever. It's also not a cowardice thing to do. It takes a lot to go against the human being's #1 will to survive

Agreed. And I completely understand. You catch hell here for everything. The Internet is full of bad asses.

Even though I disagree, I respect your opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally, I would consider myself selfish if I forced my parents to have to bury their daughter.

Yeah I can see why us as outsiders feel that way

I did a lot of research on suicide after my uncle killed himself in order to better understand it

I hope everything works out for you medic. I'm traveling with my best friend right now whose dad committed suicide 7 years ago. I wish he would have seen a thread like this and hope some of the kindness and generosity displayed make a genuine impact on your life.

You will be fine buddy and everything will get better. Enjoy knowing you will be with your son when he graduates college, gets married, has a baby, scores his first varsity goal, etc. Those are the things that make life worth living and you will be glad to be there. Cheers to the future my friend

Does anyone here know Medic IRL?

The fact that he isn't online has me a bit worried.

I don't know him IRL or even his name but I can get in touch with him and have tried. He's not answering me and I'm a little concerned

But I also know what it's like to get depressed and completely isolate

Considering I'm doing the exact same thing to all of my friends except for one at this very moment, I do too.

Eta: my friend txt me yesterday and it took me a while to answer. He told me that he was worried. I don't think he has any idea how much that meant to me.
