Aiken Golf Club. The price isn't too jacked and it is a course that was built in 1912. One of my favorites in this area.

Will look into it. Any of y'all played Goshen? I'm reading good things about their greens. One of them is 15,000 square feet. Yikes.

I've taken a few trips and stayed at Reynolds Plantation.
Lots of courses. It's actually where some of the pros will stay the week before The Masters and play rounds.
Every course is nice and you can't go wrong.

Jones Creek: Decent course in a nice neighborhood. Some good holes and a couple of holes on the back that are just squeezed in. Greens are nice. Par 5s are really good. Hardest of this list
Bartrum: public course, lot of fun, 5 par 5s, best value of this list I think
Pointe South: Easiest of the group, fun, short hitters paradise, at least 30 minutes from town. Cheapest of this group. Conditions are better than price.
Goshen: it has seen better days. Working class neighborhood course. Nice layout. I have not played there in 5 years or so.
Applewood: Further out, all the fun of Pointe South, easy course.
Gordon Lakes: on Fort Gordon. Some hassle getting on base. This is a gret course. 7000+ from the tips. If not for the gate, best course on the list here.
Mount Vintage: very nice. private/public course.
Forest Hills: public course, Donald Ross
Green Meadows: AKA "South Augusta National". No pretense here. Picture Caddyshack with more character. A TV show could be made about this club. Strangely, the biggest money games in Augusta are played here. It is sort of in the hood. You'll meet many people with experience with the criminal justice system here. And also some local politicians. I actually like the layout. The conditions are not great, but it is a fun course.

Goshen use to be one of the better public courses in the area, but sadly its condition has went downhill for the last 8+ years. It was where Vaughn Taylor grew up playing, along with Scott Brown.

Tyrone,
I'm surprised your boy hasn't told you about Paige, yet.
