re: THE 2017 Arkansas Razorback Baseball Season Thread - Hawgeye
Going to be interesting to see how this plays out this next week as far as hosts and national seeding goes. Right now, this is how I would have it... 1. Oregon State matched with Long Beach 2. North Carolina matched with Lexington 3. Florida matched with Charlottesville 4. Louisville matche...
So you are just going to ignore Stanford in this discussion?
Why would anyone bring up Stanford while discussing LSU? Stanford being a national seed will not impact LSU being a national seed. ...

re: What does LSU need from SEC tourney? - Hawgeye
My opinion is that LSU just needs to win that first game and you guys will secure a national seed. I think Kentucky winning it all would be the worst case scenario for LSU, if LSU doesn't win a game in Hoover. There are only 4 teams who have a shot at a national seed from the league IMO...Fl...

re: National Seed Projections (Before SEC Tourney) - Hawgeye
Something also to consider would be a non P5 team cracking the national seed...the only chance of that one is Southern Miss. Southern Miss RPI: 10 Overall Record: 44-12 League Record: 25-5 vs. Top 50: 8-4 vs. Top 100: 22-10 Road Record: 20-6 This would be the only non P5 team I could see...

Their ace can be beat. You guys just need to hit the ball a bit better than you showed this weekend. How are the injuries going and will your guys still be out?...

re: National Seed Projections (Before SEC Tourney) - Hawgeye
18 top 50 RPI wins vs 8. That's tough to overcome.
Not when the selectors want more than one Super Regional on the west coast, which is what we will likely see. Bottom line...we wouldn't even be having this conversation if Kentucky had not lost 2 of its last 3 series this regul...
We will see. Right now they don't have 40.
Well yea, but they don't play a tourney and have one more league series left next weekend.
D1 says their RPI is 52
According to warrennolan their overall SOS is 36. Non conference was 61. Overall RPI is 11. Non conf...

re: National Seed Projections (Before SEC Tourney) - Hawgeye
Love talking college baseball so I will throw in my two cents on the Kentucky vs. Stanford national seed talk. -NCAA selectors are going to want at least 2 Supers out West -Kentucky has lost 2 of its last 3 series overall -Kentucky finished 3rd in its conference -Kentucky only has 38 overall ...
Stanford?
Yep
RPI outside the top 8 Only 36 wins SOS outside the top 50 Likely not going to win their conference
RPI is 11, which is plenty high enough. 36 wins with still 4 regular season games remaining. Legit chance to sweep all 4 which would put them ...

re: SEC Baseball: National Seed & Regional Hosting Resumes - Hawgeye
Only 4 hosts, but 3 national seeds.
I just don't see that really...here is the way I see it. Mainly thinking the way the NCAA selectors will think. They're going to want at least a chance for 2 Supers on the West coast, which means realistically those can only come from the Pac 12....

SEC Baseball: National Seed & Regional Hosting Resumes - Hawgeye
Basically the way I see it, the league will only have 4 host sites this year and two national seeds. Obviously, things could possibly change with the outcome of the SEC Tourney, but honestly I do not see much changing. Florida Gators Overall Record: 40-15 League Record: 21-9 League Fin...
