She had that much trouble because she is innately more physically weak than her male counterparts.
It's not chauvinism if it's the truth.

I will only ask 1 question; Was her time limit the same as the men's? If yes If no

I'd follow her into an emergency spay or neuter any day.

The fact that she's struggling to walk 12 miles is fricking pathetic and why lowering the standards for women participation in the military will get more quality soldiers killed than anything else. Such a bullshite P.C. world we live in now. The funny thing is, youre too ignorant and stupid to realize how shitty this makes women look and how undeserving they are. Youre trying to use this as a "ha! told ya so! They can hack it!" message, but it's the exact opposite.
Here we go.

It's a thread from a notorious baiter, so I'm pessimistic on this being a "feel good" thread.

What I saw in that video is what I love the most about the military. Camaraderie. I saw men and women united in a common purpose achieving a difficult goal. Pushing each other beyond self-perceived limits.
Capt. Cudd might not have finished easy, but she did finish.
good for her
some of you one here might have finished easy, many of you would have never even tried

she is an Army Veterinarian so marching 12 miles with a full load is not part of her normal job. it seems like she did it for the accomplishment

Capt. Sarah Cudd, an army veterinarian, was one of 46 candidates who last month attempted to achieve the Army’s Expert Field Medical Badge - one of the toughest decorations to earn - at Fort Dix in New Jersey.
The course is described as the as 'the second-hardest badge in the Army to get outside of the Infantry Expert Badge' and culminates with a 12-mile march that must be completed within three hours.
The success rate is just 17 percent, Task & Purpose reported.

She'll take care of War Dogs. That's a good thing.

The requirement is 12 miles in 3 hours, that's a 4mph pace (moderate walk) with a weighted ruck. That's the standard and apparently only about 1/5 pass. They didn't change the standard for her. I'm Navy and haven't had the pleasure of a long march, but it seems like she did something that the vast majority of soldiers who think they're fit couldn't pull off.

It's not chauvinism if it's the truth.
Studies have shown that when it comes to endurance -- specifically distance running/walking -- the gap between men and women decreases to almost zero (with some data suggesting women outdo the men) as distance increases.
But 12 miles is far below that mark. We are talking in excess of 50 miles.

So what happens when its wartime and at the end of that 12 mile road March the finish line is better known as the front line??

Admirable she pushed herself past her limits and finished IMO.

Boy, aren't you full of assumptions.
My main question is: "is this march harder than it seems"? It doesn't seem to me like walking 12 13 minute miles with a heavy pack should destroy a freaking Captain like this. Is there something I'm missing? Do they go with sleep deprivation prior to the march? Do they start on an empty stomach and then deprive themselves of water and food for the whole thing? Is a lot of it over steep uphill terrain?

she barely crossed the line
way to do the bear minimum

Does that data include having half your body weight strapped to your back?

As long as she passed all the bench marks to receive the Army’s Expert Field Medical Badge, then I have no problem with this.
I agree.
Just like anything else, you pass the test, you pass.

If that's true, then it's a damn shame the lack of overall fitness the Army shows. That's a 15 min pace for 12 miles, that should be nothing for anyone in even decent shape.

I'm not buying that, unless the standards have gone way down. We did a 30k in basic training.
