If someone is bringing their dog to my house, it’s staying in the backyard, and if it’s going to bark because of that, they need to make other arrangements for it.

Offer to line up and pay for the dog to be boarded. And tell them it can be where they live or where you live, if they really want to travel with it. They’ll get the hint you’re serious and will probably just board the mutt on their dime. If they balk at that, send them a link to a hotel.
When we had dogs, I only took them to my parents house. But they had a couple of dogs and leather furniture so they were used to pet hair. Plus our dogs got along with theirs. Anywhere else, we boarded at the vet for the weekend.

Ask her if she would like you to drag your dick and a-hole on here furniture.... cause that’s what the dog will do.

Tell them to bring a kennel. That or tell them to board their dog.

Sounds like she can shove it. Your house, your rules. She’s lucky you are letting it in the house at all.

I mean you are clearly in the right here.

Man just put some towels on the furniture.
Keep the wife happy and choose your battles. This is stupid compared to other issues and drama.

If he caves on this, he becomes his wife’s bitch, in-laws are inconsiderate assholes in this case

It’s your house, your rules. But the dog isn’t messing up your furniture by just sleeping/sitting on it. Put a sheet down and relax nancy
I don't like my own 2 dogs on my furniture, so i can sure as shite see why the OP wouldn't want to allow someone else's dogs on his furniture.

Your house, your rules. I'd give them the option to buy covers for everything the dog will jump on.
