problem at 9:30PM on a Sunday typically the only people in the newsroom is the 10:00 producer who has to go to the control room during the show, the anchor, weather person, sports guy & an intern who has to run the teleprompter
though a desk manager probably would've heard and would've gone in to see what info s/he could get
