Some of the baddest people on the planet.

I can go into a sherpa wikipedia rabbit hole and not come out for hours.

Follow @adrianballinger and @coryrichards on Insta. They are the two climbers responsible for #everestnofilter.

They begin their summit push in about 4 hours.

I'm not a wordy guy at 8300meters/27,000 feet. @coryrichards and I made it to the highest camp on the planet. It hurt a lot. We leave at 10 pm for our #everest summit push. A lot of bullshite is going on around us - stolen oxygen bottles, poached tents, climbers taking it too close to the edge. We're going to do our best to keep our ascent attempt clean, succeed or fail. #everestnofilter #everest2016

The real problem is the Sherpas. I am glad they are there to help people and to make money in a relatively poor Asian country, but they almost always end up babysitting and holding people's hand to get to the top, create rope lines, secure foot/hand holds...

Yeah the western expedition leaders that are bringing all the blue blood douches are a big part of this problem. The Sherpas delivering hot face towels and tea to their tents at base camp looked like British colonial India in the 1800s. These folks are "roughing it" with servants waiting on them hand and foot.

The death rate for Everest is about 4%. The death rate for Annapurna is 41%.

Lol Everest is not a non-accomplishment, Denali is not in the death zone. People die up there, Everest is not an environment humans can sustain.

Thanks for the link.
I had heard that McKinley was a really tall climb, but didn't realize its base was at sea level.

The summit of Mount Everest currently has 200 dead bodies on it, most of them just moved to the side and left where they died.

Make that 204 now.

I've been acquainted with two people who have summitted - one has had health issues since, and one's in prison.

Be careful what you wish for.

I can't take the winter in South LA. Why someone would pay 50K to climb Everest is beyond me. F That
