Of everything in that picture, I think I find his shirt to be the most disturbing.

Like that tubby a-hole has ever eaten a fruit before.

This is his schtick.

quote:Fwiw, these subsidies were available to anyone, like any car company could have taken advantage of them from everything I understand.
Because he'll get the government to subsidize the cost down to an economy ticket price.
quote:I'm going to assume you aren't very well versed on what SpaceX has done.
I find Elon Musk to be largely a fraud

I'm sure someone could build a rocket to do this.
Although i'm not sure who on this earth wants to go 15,000+ mph, or who could afford to travel in this retardedly expensive rocket plane.

It'd be pretty cool to be able to get to Australia in an hour.

Dream big!!!

Here's the thing:
Elon Musk actually does produce things and push the limits.
His hyperloop idea is in heavy testing and his theories on it have proven accurate. We could see active Hyperloops within 20 years
Space X is doing some pretty amazing work. The reusable rocket will be a much bigger deal than people on here are giving credit for.

They're a "private" company doing many of the things NASA used to do. They can land their rocket so it is reusable. What else am I missing?

For sure, but it doesn't make Musk a fraud any less. Dude fails to deliver on more promises than he achieves. Interactive Bloomberg site where you can track some of his promises

DFW to Houston would be one that needs to be built for sure. Another is DFW to Los Angeles but if it gets built I am sure it will since it should run someways along the same path as the 10 anyways all across the country.

I am curious how the hell he could possibly get it down to the price of economy.
Because he will convince the government to pay for 85% of it.

It's just funny to see people hate because they just love to and have to hate on everything.

It costs $10k per pound to get into orbit. Suborbital is way easier, takes way less energy, and is way cheaper. He's not talking about putting people into orbit. He's talking about lobbing people, at most, halfway around the world and smashing them onto any spot on the planet in under an hour.
This is the part most are missing.

That literally changes the entire landscape of space travel as we know it, and you said it in passing like it was just a thing.

quote:Wait, is that tracking whether he delivers on a goal by the original date he says? It's too busy of a site for me to sift through. But he sets aggressive deadlines with his goals for a reason, not hitting them is really not THAT important.
