Is it legal to impersonate a cop if you are not doing anything else illegal? Say just for the attention?

This and they should not send him to jail. They should stick his arse in some BDUs and send him to Syria.

IF it is going to make a big difference, usually sales tax related, I casually mention a military discount..

its pathetic when people claim to be in the military when they never have been, but I think its just as pathetic when actual military play up the fact they served just for attention or free stuff.

I agree with you, and ninety-nine times out of hundred the people who really play that up are either people who never served in a war zone or someone who never stepped a foot off VBC or Bagram. For the most part, the ones who see real shite won't be flouting that around.

I think the only time I ever mentioned it was when flying - free baggage for active duty military, so obviously I was going to take advantage of that.

I could do with fewer Army/Marine Wife stickers and T-shirts and bumper stickers. I've seen a few cool car stickers - couple of Ranger bat guys I know had the old-school orange diamond with their bat number inside - but most of them are garbage.

You should toss a bumpersticker on your truck. I'm a pretty reasonable driver but I'm convinced there's been a cop or two who have let some minor traffic violations go when they saw my bumpersticker. Maybe I'm just lucky...

I don't think people should go around impersonating others.

As for stolen valor? Simply being in the military does not bestow or denote valor.

I have never served, but I have great respect for the people who have the backbone to do what they do.

This guy is a scumbag.

I say give him a full pack, M4, body armor and whatever else the real soldiers have and drop his arse in the middle of Afghanistan. No radio. No support.

If he can somehow find his way back to the US then he can stay.

I guess he would not last 48 hours.

You really think that should be his punishment for playing dress up? Or are you just a tough guy?

I think stolen valor should be against the law.

I don't care who agrees with me, I am free to feel however I want, because of people in uniform.
