Except he isn't charging another teen. He is attacking a police officer who is attempting to arrest him. Not a school yard fight. So you think that the kid is incapable of inflicting serious bodily harm to the officer?
Maybe he is capable. Ncwerainy capable of inflicting harm on another teen. My point is this. If a cop plays the fear for my life card, it should just as easily stand up when one teen charges another. In fact, even more so.

The cop, if he was simply trying to inform the driver of his wrong, didn't need to lead with "license, registration and POI". Why even ask? Shouldn't he simply say "high beams are dangerous in the dark, agreed, please be careful using them while driving home."
We can argue about cops asking for license and registration all we want. Sure the cop could have not asked. But the kid could have also not been a complete idiot and did what he did.
All the kid had to do was show his ID and registration and be on his way. 2 minutes, tops.
But he wanted to be all bad arse and cause a scene so he could film it and be one of "those" people.
Also, yelling "I do not have a weapon" doesn't exempt you from being arrested. Just like resisting arrest doesn't exempt you from more excessive force than handcuffs. Just like charging at a cop, trying to beat his face in doesn't exempt you from being shot.
Kid got what he wanted, attention.

I blame the parents for not teaching their child to show respect for LEO in this scenario.

Talk to the cop like it's Jesus Christ himself coming to chat with you. Pay the upmost respect, and be nice. If you are nervous, take some breaths first, you can NEVER appear nervous around police, they see that as super suspicious. Just use manners and be super polite, and many times you get a warning.
Do you not see anything wrong in that though? I am not against police at all, but if you have to do that to someone who is supposedly trying to keep everyone safe there is a problem.

I know the kid was in the wrong but I hate this "pull the trigger until it clicks" mentality.
Kid is in the wrong, yet unarmed. After ONE shot with the gun the officer could of got up walked away and waited for the ambulance, instead he put in seven at close range. I agree the kid was in the wrong, I also feel this guy should no longer have a badge.

The cop started it all. He also said that he had stopped several people for flashing their lights at him. He knew there was an issue with his lights but he continued to pull people over. I'll say it again he was using it as an excuse to pull everyone that flashed their lights at him over. the kid's actions after the stop were wrong but flashing your lights at someone shouldn't result in a death on the side of the highway. The cop is trash as is everyone in this thread defending him.

No problem with that shooting
You're a retard.
No problem with a cop shooting an unarmed teen not suspected of any crime seven times?

Sure the cop could have not asked
Once he's stopped you, he's already called in your tag for information about the car (stolen, involved in another crime, etc.). After that's done I'm pretty sure he's required to get your license and check for warrants. This is not the 1950s anymore where a cop can pull you over and tell you that he's going to call your parents if you don't act right.
Someone said that the cop shouldn't have shot him. Well, I'm also pretty sure they are taught to not roll around on the ground with a suspect because of the opportunity to lose the gun to the suspect. The suspect can then shoot you and anyone else around you.

That being said, I believe cop had right to defend himself by using deadly force (even though 7 shots seems excessive) CLEAR AS MUD!
At what number of shots would you say it crosses the line from self-defense to an action with malicious intent?
8? 30?

Cops have a license to kill whoever and whenever they want.... Deal with it!

Kid would be alive if he simply cooperated. But if the cop is aware that his headlights were exceptionally bright - to the point that more than one person had already flashed him thinking his brights were on - why would he pull the kid over for doing the same, which is common courtesy?

So he used the non lethal option first. How many non lethal options should he use while being attacked before you are satisfied and give him permission to use his gun?
The POS cop absolutely never hit his victim with the tazer before the shots and if that's what he's claiming it's bullshite just like the rest of his story.
There will be no criminal investigation, but if there were they would find the tazer was blasted into his dying, or already lifeless, body after the fact.

Photo of cop post incident
The dude deciding to start swinging on a cop his tazer obviously didn't disarm the kid. The kid made an awful choice they are taught are to shoot to kill, in these types of situations.
I actually blame the kids parents and not the law enforcement officer, better parenting and their kid would prob still be alive. It's a sad situation but the kid was wrong and officer is right in this situation. I agree with Bateman the only thing I think the officer did wrong was not use his tazer sooner to where maybe it may have been effective.
