VW CC or Passat V6 SEL.....may have to go to 32k, but you could get them new and they give you German Engineering and ride.
they compared the Accord and Passat in road tests and the Honda was blown out of the water btw.

the maintenance on MB is insanely expensive. Not so much on Hondas.

We bought a 2009 528i in 2011 through the CPO program and we love it. I'd rather have it than a brand new Accord. We were coming from a Camry that we had bought new and I hated that POS. Our 528i cost a bit more than $30k, but it wasn't 40. I probably wouldn't buy a 4 cylinder 528 though, I'd bite the bullet and get the turboed inline 6. Ours has the naturally aspirated inline 6 and they offered that with a manual transmission, though they were damn near impossible to find and I had to fly 1400 miles to get it. BMW dealerships won't trade each other for CPOed cars, so you have to do that on your own.

I had a 20k budget when I got the wife's last year, was looking at low mileage accords and ended up with private party Acura TSX. It was a few years older, but just felt so much nicer on the interior.

I'd agree to an extent, but having the car purchased (leased) and serviced (free) at the same dealership you buy from offers a bit of security that it isn't a lemon that has been passed around. I got to see all of the records from BMW on everything that was changed as part of the CPOed processes, and the dates and milages for all of the services. But really I don't think it's too much difference than a car that has been serviced at a dealership through the lease or ownership period. I still had to clean the interior after I bought it, so that says something about the level of prep the car went through.
I quit using the dealership for service when the CPO free service was up, I think you can find better qualified folks at a indy.

They've done a few comparison test in Car & Driver, and most of the time the new auto beats the pants off of the older vehicle.

The primary benefit is the extended factory warranty that comes with the car. It is also nice to know that the car has gone thru an inspection and has met a threshold of standards. No way I'd buy an out of warranty German luxury car from some random used car lot.

I guess alot of people didn't see my post....U can buy a 2014 or 15 for $22 k fully loaded with less than 10 k miles. Why pay $30k?
"I just typed up 2014 and 2015 accords on auto trader with less than 15 k miles, with leather, under $26k price, and came up with 28 cars within 200 miles of me. a good percentage of them were around $22 k for either 4 or 2 door and most of them had less than 10 k miles. Some with less than 2 k miles. Buy a year old one and save huge and keep the warranty. "

An accord doesn't depreciate 8k with 10,000 miles
the cars you are finding originally sold for less than 30k most likely
Popular used vehicles don't depreciate like you people preach they do
Those same people also like to look at MSRP when discussing depreciation, which no one in their right mind pays

All this Camry and Accord talk. Not everyone wants to drive an appliance.

You do know they make more than one model with leather right?
4 cyl EX-L, EX-L w/ Nav
6 cyl EX-L, EX-L w/Nav, Touring
That varies the price quite a bit. The "$30k" Accord is at minimum a V6. Nav MSRP is about 32k, Touring 34k.
Your post is useless without that information. My V6 EX-L w/ Nav was purchased for about $28k, brand new. I even totaled one 9 months after purchase and made money through the insurance valuation.
You may be able to find a better slightly better deal on a 10k Miles used car, but a Honda is not going to depreciate as much as you imply.

All 28 I found was the ex L version. Of those 28, 8 of them had v 6's. The v 6 ones were $25k. He never said anything about if he wanted a 4 banger or 6 cylinder or 2 or 4 door. I typed in accords with leather under 15 k miles and found 28 within 200 miles of me.

Before buying the high end used figured out if any maintenance is covered in the future and what the warranty is. The cost to drive those European cars can be painful. Lexus not as bad. All probably require high octane fuel. We replace a door panel on a 2010 7 series six months ago and the panel alone was $1000. And had to get one from Germany. Accord is boring but smart

Truth. Compare CPO to non-CPO and you'll save a few thousand dollars. Buy an aftermarket warranty if you're that concerned about it. At least you can pay those over time instead of all at once. Anyone who doesn't know that the dealership inspections are a joke is downright ignorant.

Do you go with a new say maxed out 2015 Honda Accord with leather seats, etc. or say a 2012 version of any of the following: Benz E350 or BMW 528 or Lexus LS 450?
Easiest question of my life.
