I would love to know why you got downvotes. What you’re saying is pretty much irrefutably true.
Too much tribalism these days. There are many people who can't accept that there are executives/companies that will use dishonest/unethical practices to pump up the bottom line because if you do you're a heathen commie hippie. They would rather be wrong than betray their political party.
This is on both sides BTW. I'm far right but can't stand the bullshite.

government was definitely involved via lobbying
The corn lobby has a lock on the government. Nothing will change due to the Iowa primary. Corn is untouchable just look at the money thrown at them with the ethanol mandates.

+1
People want to talk about Big Pharma, as they should. But Big Corn (yes I realize that sounds absurd) is a cancer on this country.

Ahh, the "natural food" boogey man. What oils are considered processed? You do realize that tallow, lard, and butter are all processed
He’s talking about polyunsaturated fats, which are the worst kinds of fats for human digestion and are in most cooking oils.
This all happened in the 80’s/90’s, there was a big push to make McDonald’s switch their fries from tallow to oil. Eventually McDonald’s folded to the pressure and switched to oils. Today McDonald fries are both less healthy and less tasteful than they were when tallow was used. The stigma around lard/ tallow is still around, so they haven’t switched back

I buy 100% grassfed/finished tallow in gallon buckets online
Can you provide a recommendation on what you bought and any issues?

I notice what some citizens put in their buggies at the grocery store.
Items such as -
4 gallons of Crisco/wesson oil
several pounds of chitlins
boxes of poptarts
cases of cheap soft drinks
flats of cheap fruit drinks
several bags of chips
Never see folks with apples or grapes.
People are eating crap and paying for it with their health.
Discovered that my wife and I have been eating a Keto diet and did not know it.

Tallow: I've found the fats available from Fatworks to be great quality. Other brands might be available cheaper online but I've used their other products so I just gravitated towards buying their buckets when I decided we needed to start ordering larger amounts. Cooking in tallow tastes great but it gets solid at room temperature so as your dish cools it could change in consistency compared to the plant oils if that's what you're used to.
My wife and I also save a bag of bones/fat/meat in the freezer and when we get enough we make beef bone broth. When the broth cools, it separates into a layer of tallow on top which you can skim off and save in a jar for cooking. We store the broth in the freezer and use it as a base for recipes (frequently used in my keto chili recipe) or just drink it straight, it's extremely nutritious.
Butter: We just get Kerrygold butter from Walmart. Grassfed. Great stuff.
Ghee: I use in "bulletproof coffee" drinks and sometimes cook with because it has a very high smoke point. You can find it all over, I think Costco has it for a good price.
Lard: We don't cook with lard often but save bacon grease for that.
Duck: We frequently eat magret (duck breast) we get from Backwater Foie Gras (local farm in Bush, LA) paired with Stokes Purple sweet potatoes fried in duck fat. This meal is a big favorite of mine on non-keto days. I also get this duck fat from Fatworks.
Oils: We also use extra virgin olive oil and avocado oil in cooking as well. Avocado oil must always be Chosen Foods brand, as a UC Davis study showed that almost every brand of avocado oil was tainted with cheap vegetable oil blends, but not Chosen Foods. There's no standard in the U.S. for what constitutes "avocado oil" so they can get away with that. We also use C8 MCT oil for occasional "bulletproof coffee" drinks too.

Cold pressed olive oil is just crushed and centrifuged. It’s not really refined or processed.

How so?
Meta-analysis of 102 randomized controlled trials showed improvement in insulin and glucose metabolism by replacing saturated fatty acids with polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet.
Wild meats have higher proportion of polyunsaturated fat and a lower proportion of saturated fat than domesticated/industrial meats.
paper with @garytaubes as co-author recommends replacing saturated fats with polyunsaturated fats.

People are sacrificing their health and tax payer dollars are paying for it, simple as that. The people that wanted this shite could get away with it in the 90’s but it’s not so easy these days, and the people that are being taken advantage of (without knowing it) would actually wake up the world could be a different place.

I thought it was pretty well known that vegetable oil was bad for you. This has been known for many years.
