Big crowd gathering at Jeff Davis tonight...rumor has it he's next.

Same procedure as Liberty takedown.

Then why are people making such a big fuss over these monuments

Leave them be and fix the city's crime

They will work to destroy everything that the men who built this great nation created, and any thing to honor them.

If it's white it's not right according to them.

The city will struggle without your money, I just hope we can bounce back in your absence

I don't really care...but it will struggle either way. It's a poorly run city.

So...can someone enlighten me, a non-New Orleanian which statue was removed, and why the public consensus is that it's okay for some to come down but not others.

FWIW - speaking as an outsider who loves visiting NO, this is beyond a waste of money, and a slap in the face to history.

I am indifferent. I am appalled at the lack of historical knowledge that the local populace has. especially Liberals and minorities. I just thing it will start a slippery slope.

Next come the founding fathers because they had slaves.

You laugh now, but you won't in the future. This will come to pass if people don't decide that enough is enough.

Streets will be renamed, buildings will be renamed or torn down, hell, it wouldn't surprise me if Washington DC gets renamed.

The more we give in, the more it will embolden them to demand more and more.

The irony of someone trying to make an edgy joke only to be rebuked with reality. I like seeing smart arse comments destroyed with a sentence of hard fact. New Orleans is indeed a poorly run city. New Orleans may not miss a person's money individually, but it will miss people's money collectively.

The fact that they feel they need to do this in the dark of night says a lot.

People who really believe in what they're doing have no compunction about doing it in the light of day, for all the world to see.

Mitch gets to pander and remove parts of history. He doesn't care either way, but dumb fricks will think he cares.

Stupid voters will think he spent tax dollars on something thst will help NO, but anyone with a brain knows this is pissing away tax dollars, buying votes, and dividing ty3 people.

Now that I think about it. It's the typical demorat way.
