This is America. I thought we didn't negotiate with terrorists.

I wouldn't piss on Mitch if he was on fire.

It's not really about a statue, per say. It's the fact that the statues are only the beginning. Once the statues are gone, there will be another cause de jour that will be of equal "importance" that will involve destroying more innocuous items that they claim are the cause of societal strife. They just want to watch the world burn. That's it.

SJWs doing work, and we just sit idly by.

Let them be distracted by surface level, meaningless changes to protect their feelings while the educated and employed continue to hold power across all industry and influence legislation.

They're too stupid to realize they're efforts are futile. They're children and should be treated as such. Sometimes it's better to just give them an inch so you can take a mile.

Was just thinking the same thing. I'll continue my path that takes my family to higher places instead of wasting my time and energy on a piece of rock with a title on it from 1874.

Let's root cause this.

What do you say Liberty Place and Robert E Lee stand for in the context of these two monuments?

Fwiw, I am against PGT and maybe Jeff Davis from coming down.

I get what you're saying but I'm saying to them, there is no distinction between LP, REL, PGT, JD, Andrew Jackson, etc.

This game has no end. In their eyes, the very foundation of New Orleans is inherently evil and the only way to make it right is to destroy it and rebuild it in the likeness of their twisted ideology.

The fricked up part is that the liberals and SJWs of 2017 will be considered deplorable right wingers in the next 15 years by the future left wingers.

Also, I guarantee you that in the next 5 years (especially if F. King Alexander is still there) we'll see a legit push to change LSU's mascot.

It's hard to ignore such a monumental occasion.

What do I think those monuments stand for in the context of themselves?

You realize that this has been done in the city before, right?

And that New Orleans is a liberal city. Extremely liberal. I am referring to the rich uptown crowd as much as the bywater and the group that you are putting all the blame on.

They are shaping their city in the way they see fit.

I agree. Which means it's not a big deal if they stay.

Can't wait for an answer on this.

New Orleans is already a shadow of what it was pre 2005.

Excuse me if I would prefer we not become the same disgustingly boring grey scale piece of shite the carpetbagging faux beauxs want us to be.

Seriously, get out and preach what you are doing here. I am sure you will find support.

If you can't, find someone who has your point of view and get them elected.

Truth is, you are a minority in this city with your view.

They're simply making excuses for a demographic that they continue to fail through their bigotry of low expectation. That's all this is. Once nothing changes, they'll move on to the next field like a giant swarm of locusts.

We need to purge LSU of all these activists. They are the worst.

You mean pandering to the electorate even though it might not be the right thing to do?

How do you think Liberty Place monument got the ok to be built in the first place?

Some POLITICIAN did what his electorate wanted. It isn't right now or then.

Do you remember New Orleans being some type of utopia pre 2005?

I hope you're right. I don't go to NOLA much but when I do, I pass by Lee and take my hat off. Not for any bullshite slavery reason, just because I admire extraordinary men.
