I stayed at Sandals, Montego Bay in July. There were A LOT of Midwesterners. Not sure why that was, but it seemed like everyone we met was from Michigan,Iowa, or Nebraska.

I had butler service, and couldn't recommend it more. With butler service, you get room service whenever you want (this was particularly good for breakfast) and an ice chest filled with Heineken sitting at my reserved spot on the beach every day. Everyone else was stuck with Red Stripe unless you went to the english pub where you could get Guinness & Heineken.

Was that trip north of $10k for a week? That money goes a long way in the islands...

I am pretty sure Sandals never allowed kids, Beaches does though, which is the same company as Sandals.

went to the sandals in negril. never seen so many canadians in my life. good time except for the transport in from the airport. jamaicans drive like maniacs. my only suggestion to anyone would be stay at a resort as close to the city you are flying into.

Just got back from La Toc on Sunday. Stayed for our Honeymoon. We're both 25 and found that we were pretty much the youngest people there. After visiting the other resorts a couple of nights for dinner, it does seem that La Toc had a younger crowd then the other two resorts. St. Lucia is incredible and for the price, you can't beat what Sandals offers. Just my opinion.

At least with St. Lucia, there aren't many places outside of Sandals I would have wanted to stay; it's an impoverished country.

Sandals had private beaches that were kept up every night.

The only problem I had the whole trip was the drive from the airport to the resort. 2+ hours in a van winding through the hills.
