Clay Matthews is a goober. They had him miked up in the Philly game and I have heard better trash talk in an Upwards girls basketball game.

I like Von Miller a lot . He is what we need. At 6'3 he is a tall LB and he has great speed coming off the edge. He will be great blitzing off the edge in the NFL.

We need a LB that doesn't suck in coverage and although VM is a beast he certainly doesn't have the best coverage skills.

Von Miller seems to be a great prospect as outside pass rushing OLB in a 3-4 defense. His skill set does NOT fit what is asked of an OLB in a 4-3 which is what we run. If Von Miller was available at #24, which is highly unlikely, we still would not draft him because he DOES NOT fit our scheme. Unless the team makes the switch to a 3-4, which I highly doubt, then we will never draft a Von Miller or a Von Miller type OLB.

In order for him to be able to rush the passer in our 4-3, Miller would have to play DE & he's too small to play DE. Our OLB's have to thrive in pass coverage & reading & reacting to run. In the 3-4, OLB's main objective is to rush the passer & sometimes drop back & cover a small zone. That's what Miller's skill set is better suited for.

So all the hopes & dreams about a Clay Matthews type or Von Miller type on our defenses, just forget about it. Its not going to happen unless we find an outstanding pass rushing DE. In the Dome Patrol days Miller would have been a great fit, now not so much. So please stop with the Von Miller talk.

You mean the guy that JJ straight ran around?

I'll give credit where credit is due, but outside of one sack, I thought Miller got handeled in that game.

Saints have lined up in the 3-4 in games under Greg Williams the past two seasons, and even ran it exclusively in a few games fyi

Lol, yeah right because we would never draft a big, athletic, fast, and versatile LB... Would be totally out of the question for Saints management... Or maybe not

So you dont recall seeing the saints line up in the 3-4 for an entire game this season, because it happened arse-clown...

Not only was it mentioned in the game, but was talked about in the paper the next day... Greg Williams likes the 3-4 and has run it with other teams he coached previous to joining the saints, and has run it a little with the saints as well...

Get your facts straight

Maybe you did, here's last year's article after we smoked Buffalo

LINK

At least make sure you're right about something before you flame on people dude.

Like I said, saints and GW are not afraid to use the 3-4 and may line up in a 3-4 from time to time in games... In this game and a few others, we ran it almost the entire game

LINK

This article talks about it hurting us in SB vs. Colts where we ran a 3 man dline

LINK

Here's another...

To keep the record straight, it wasn't a 3-4 the entire game. Multiple packages were used and flopped the entire game including 5 db's.

ETA: You said this year, what game this year?

The record is straight Chadboy, a 3man dline was used the entire game versus Buffalo, sometimes with 4 lbs and sometimes with 3lb and an extra db, but was a 3 man front the entire football game...

I dont remember, did not find a link but I think the other 3 links I provided are sufficient, like I said the saint can and will run a 3-4 and will do it the entire game if GW wants to, and we have done it before...

Know what your talking about before you flame, just some advice for the future

So we have never used a 3-4 for an entire game and there was no game this year where we ran an exclusive 3 man DL front?

You didn't give one accurate fricking statement. Eat your words.

why would anyone run a 3-4 for an entire game you idiot what about when the offense lines up in a four and five WR set, are we still gonna stay with 4 DBs on the field? No, thats why the article said we ran a 3-4 and a 3-3-5 all game long dumbass
