Defensive performance yesterday was good enough to win.

Offensive performance was not.

Offense put our defense in terrible field position the entire first half.

Offense gave the Browns 7 points.

Offense couldn't convert an easy 3rd down to ice the game

Offense took a sack to put us out of FG range and allow Cleveland to win by only needing a FG

After all that, the defense only allowed 19 points.

Yeah, the defense was absolutely to blame for the loss

Also, using rankings through two weeks of play in the NFL as solid evidence of proving your point is laughable. Actually look at the game, use a little bit of intelligence and come to a conclusion. You can do it. I believe in you.

No because picking out individual plays instead of overall play in relation to the other 31 teams is the right way to grade performance. Hit up a few more online IQ tests so you can feel even smarter

Bullfrickingshit. Our defense is the primary reason we are 0-2. Well, that and Brees pick six and 4th down sack to take us out of field goal range.

They've had an opportunity the last 2 weeks to win the game for us and they couldn't. But let's remember, the offense didn't necessarily put them in the best position to win in week 1 after the Colston fumble. They did what they could and forced Atl to make another 50+ yard field goal and he did. Matt Bryant won that game for the Falcons much more than the defense lost it for us.

In Cleveland, however, I think it's completely unacceptable to let HOYER and a below-average offense playing with a rookie running back drive 80+ yards from inside their 10 yard line in less than 2 minutes to win the game.

Brees said it best, we were a play away in both games. We start making those plays and we're 2-0 with 2 road games out of the way. These "issues" are fixable.

they're fixable, but the odds are not in our favor. 11.8% playoff failure rate for 0-2 teams since 1990 according to a poster in another thread.

This doesn't mean shite of you can't control ToP in the 4th quarter, or are playing from behind for 3 quarters. It's a misleading stat. Also, Brees threw a pic 6 this week and a pick in the endzone last week.

The offense most definitely has problems and has contributed to our loss

Can we please re-word this to say Jimmy missed a pass that led to a pick six.

Can we please re-word this to say Armstead whiffed like a pussy on Kruger, who pressured Brees into throwing an inaccurate pass to Jimmy, who missed that pass which led to the pick six.

Brees threw a pick 6 this game and threw an int last game. He has cost us points in both games. So the offense is a problem also. How do you have 170+ yds rushing and still lose? Just face it, the season is over before it ever began.

And you just brought stupid to a whole new level...

Sorry goat but it's the truth. Defensively we just can't hang right now.
This is true but in both games the offense has had the chance to close out the game but failed to do so. And Drew has cost the team two TDs with his int's.

So there's that.

If Drew doesn't throw for 350 yards and three touchdowns everybody says the offense is struggling. We're spoiled.

By the way, look at a replay on that, the ball went right through Jimmy's two hands.

I don't think the offense has a whole has problems...it's just that Brees hasn't played as elite as he can. He's still been good but not great like we need.

Also Payton hasn't called the best of games. Someone said it in the game thread. Payton and Carmichael need to split up some of the play calling duties like they did in 2011

Why are people saying that Brees isn't playing elite? Cleveland knew he was throwing to Graham on that one drive and yet he completed pass after pass after pass and was dropping balls on dimes in guys' hands. Robert fricking Meachem caught three balls.

Drew Brees is not the problem. Payton's playcalling has been a little bit of a mystery, but they move the ball effectively like they always have.

The defense is the PRoblem. So far they haven't gotten off the field and haven't pressured the likes of the elusive Matt Ryan and Bryan Hoyer. That's worrisome.

I want more Raphael Bush back deep and more Kenny Vaccaro in the box.
