Yet the off. was ready to kick a field goal and force a TD for the win from the browns but failed.
We both could do this all day.
Like I've said in other threads its everyone and everything thats contributed to the 0-2 start.

What about all the good things Brees and the offense did that game? Like coming back from a 16 point deficit? How about rattling off over 170 yards rushing? How about 10 catches and two TD's for Jimmy Graham?

What good did the defense do yesterday? There isn't much.

It's just been an unfortunate two games. It feels much like games in the past where the offense can keep up but the defense can't get off the field. I think it will turn around because it's the same personnel with a good addition. It just sucks. But hey, SF and SEA have started off scuffling and there is still a ton to play for.

I agree that the offense can improve, but i also think the defense is a far bigger area of concern at this point.

I'm far from hitting the panic button. Which by the way I can't find since using it last during the Haslett days.

I wouldn't read too much into the sidelines thing. Watch film of when Peyton worked as an assistant under Parcells and see how many times Sean got the riot act from him.

I'm not panicking yet either. There's really no excuse to lose to the Falcons and Browns in the beginning of the season. But here are the Saints at 0-2. There is so much talent and so much coaching talent that I can't see this team not making the playoffs.

Anybody who thinks the offense is the reason we are 0-2 is oblivious to the situation we are in.

I'm more upset with our pass rush, than our defensive backfield. Our db's need help, and the only way to help them is by getting a pass rush from 2 of our best players on the team. Junior and Cam have been non existent, and I think Rob Ryan is hoping he can get pressure with the front four, which hasent happened yet.

Going home will surely help to right the ship and we know what positive momentum can do for a team. I'm just gonna wait this out, they're too good to continue playing this bad.

Tue and it helps that the rest of the division isn't exactly lighting it up. Might limp into the playoffs as a Wildcard.

2 games in a row now the offense has had the ball with a chance to Ice the game and failed to come up with any points. The defense hasn't come up with the big plays in critical situations like they did last year. The entire team is to blame for these 2 losses not just the defense.

I'm here in Houston and they are 2-0 so Saints do not exist here. Anything made of this? Local NO press? Just coaches bitching? Give me the inside scoop.

Like coming back from a 16 point deficit?

I think what goat is saying is that there is a major reasons why we were in that much of a hole in the first place, and it's not the defense missing on the opportunities. This is before turnovers were a factor. We punted the first 4 drives. Had a lot to do with a poor game plan coming out of the tunnel. Poor blocking up front. Brees held onto the ball too long in a few instances in those 4 drives. Also we tried to do too much adjustment at the line, it was a flashback to us playing in Seattle last year.

And...

quote:

How about 10 catches and two TD's for Jimmy Graham?

That is just poor defensive coaching on the part of the Browns. When they continually ceded those plays to him, that should have been the blowout phase of the game for us. But earlier mistakes turned that into our catch-up phase.

quote:

It's just been an unfortunate two games.

One turnover the entire game that resulted in a P6. That was the only "unfortunate" play I can think of for us. The rest is poor planning and poor execution, 3 quarters of the game.

How is the offense such a failure? It can be improved for sure, but for two games on the road they've played well.
An interception in the end zone vs Atlanta? ( A FG there = W)
A pick six vs Cleveland? 6 pts given the opposing team in a 2 point loss?
A sack that takes us out of FG range that puts us up by 4?

Sorry, but until the Defense plays well, the Offense cannot make ANY mistakes, so they are partially to blame.

The offense is fine and Brees isn't even playing his best and we are still putting up good offense

Being dead last in defense has a lot to do with the losses. We can't get a pass rush and can't get turnovers. We are running the ball a lot more as well so the only ones to complain about on Offense is Payton's weird play calling and Brees being off a little
