Here's his selection for the Saints:

quote:

27. New Orleans Saints: DE Dee Ford, Auburn

The Saints have made a big bet at safety with the addition of Jairus Byrd, but while the back end of the defense is locked down, and the front is in decent shape with the growth of Cameron Jordan, John Jenkins and Akiem Hicks, the Saints could really use an edge rusher. Ford isn't a three-down player, but he can be a constant problem for offenses when he's on the field as a speed rusher. Given the QBs the Saints have to deal with, speed off the edge will be useful.

Noticed he forget Galette. Noticed Galette finished second in sacks with 12. Noticed Galette improved his run defense greatly and became a 3 down player. Noticed most of these experts are idiots.

27. WR/CB not 2 down edge rusher.
59. WR/CB whichever wasn't picked in the first round.

IMO.

Maybe it's just me, but I just don't see us going D-Line in the 1st rd.
Dee Ford is a special player and wouldn't mind having him, but we have more pressing needs. Particularly at the skill positions...

I could see it happening. Saints want to go best available and sometimes their picks are baffling to us experts.

I like Dee, but I don't see us making him our 1st pick.

I agree with this.

It's really going to be a fun draft, bc other than WR; nothing is really a glaring hole barring injuries. I kinda expect DLP to be back at center when he gets no good offers from anyone else, and I love humber which helps our lb depth.

I even feel good about cb going into season, but I don't feel good about cb if one of the starters go down which seems inevitable at cb last few years.

Going further into the backups, offensive tackle, and maybe olb are the only other worries considering injury possibilities.

All in all, it's freaking awesome to go into a draft feeling like you don't absolutely need something other than the position that the draft class has a ton of. (WR)

People that want a WR in round 1 just don't understand value, and the depth of WR in this draft.

Ford would be an excellent pick IMO. COrnerback I could understand too.

I would love picking Dee Ford at that spot. He has OLB written all over him. Add the fact that we will be getting Butler back as well I am really liking what we are putting together defensively.

Saints were 4th in sacks last year and are adding Butler on top of that.

While I understand the draft is deep at WR, there's no doubt that there are ones that appear to be special, that I could see us taking early....meaning in the 1st.

Pick wouldn't bother me. If teams are having to account for Ford on the rush it will be a banquet for the other guys on the line. As has been said before a great line can make a average secondary seem all world!

I think the draft day meltdown will be us passing on some stud WR's in the first

I would cream my Jimmy Graham underwear.

Ford ran a 4.5.

who are we talking about?

Chances are there wont be any pass rusher of Ford's level later in the draft.

All the truly special WRs will be gone by 27
