shite, I hate defending the Saints, but I thought the same thing about Cooks, but he showed he can a deep threat against the Ravens. Yeah, it was against a second string DB, but he still torched the defender on that one TD that got called back.

Cooks is a 8-9 ypg catch kinda guy, more of a possession guy. I don't think his body can hold up for an entire season.

he was beating people deep last season from the Green Bay game on

He's one of the fastest players in the NFL

With a bottom 5(maybe worse) set of WRs/TEs I don't see anyway this isn't Brees's worst season statistically by a long shot. And with Spiller never being able to stay on the field safe to say this Saints offense won't be all that scary. JMO

Brees has thrown for 5,000 yards while not having a single 1,000 yard receiver and an injured colston.

Finished #1 on offense with Lance Moore and Henderson as our top guys

Why are you laughing? I like Cooks a lot as a person, can see him catching 85-90 passes this year but he's gonna get nicked up and miss time and his YPC will be around 8-9-10 yds somethng like that.

He's a cowboy fan that lives in Houston who's a rocket fan. He just recently appeared last year, just leave his comments to the side. He's an NBA consultant ;) or something like that in his mind.

9.8 ypc or 10.3 ypc who cares it still = possession WR.

Not saying he'll be as good, but Cooks reminds me of Antonio Brown a lot. Same exact size, very good route runner, sure hands, can get some rushing yards as well.

I think he catches 90+ this year if healthy.

You mean like this guy?

Antonio Brown- 5'10 186 lbs 4.57 40 yard dash

Brandin Cooks- 5'10 189 lbs 4.33 40 yard dash

They have similarities body wise, but I'm not sure if I see Cooks being as talented as Antonio Brown, at least not yet.

But I do believe he will have 90+ catches, but more because he will be about Bree's only real option. Colston looked to have lost a step last year, and Graham is gone. It sort of all falls on Cooks.

But good god, there will be so many screen passes between Cooks and Spiller
I will flip my shite when they go for 20+ yards against us multiple times.

Beat me to it. Cooks also communicates with Brown on a regular basis.

quote:

The New Orleans Saints' Brandin Cooks entered the NFL in 2014 and sought to find a veteran receiver most like him from whom to receive advice. He found that player in Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown.

"He's around my stature," the 5-foot-10 Cooks said in a video posted by gritmedia.co. "He's not the tallest, he's not the biggest."

In 2014, he was one of the best. Brown led the NFL in catches (129) and receiving yards (1,689) and scored 13 touchdowns.

"Throughout the season I would just text him, you know, ask him questions," Cooks said. "How'd you get your (footwork) so good? How do you get in and out of your breaks so well? How do you separate from defenders so well?"

Don't sleep on this guy in the screen game as well.

quote:

“He can put his nose down and find that seam,” said fullback Eric Lorig, who also plays on special teams. “In the running back game, he’s getting more involved and he knows what he’s doing. He’s a smart player. … Marcus seems to bring a lot to the table.”

quote:

“He’s got a special feel for the pass game. He’s just got some instincts that are tough to teach, a little awareness of how to break routes off, how to set up routes,” Griffin said. “That’s going to be one of his strongest qualities and that’s how we might use him this year.”

90 catches wouldn't surprise me at all either but that won't make the saints a top 5 or even 7 offense. Jarvis Landry will catch 90 balls too with about the same ypc at Cooks FYI and everyone agrees he's a possession guy. Cooks is too.

Hey man, enough of those gifs of someone who is only a possession receiver. Cooks is the next Colston. It was only luck that he was able to get behind those safeties.
