by some in the media. According to this article he was offered 18.5 mil per year and a large signing bonus. He would have gotten the second largest "guaranteed money" in the history of the league. This would have made him the highest paid QB in the league.

His selfishness about the contract will begin to taint his "Saintly" image in this country if he is not careful.

Just sign the Damn Deal!!!!!!!

Once he signs the contract, he'll go back to visiting sick children and building levee's. I'm not worried about his image long term.

Without SP as his coach and OC, he certainly isnt worth than 18 mil on another team.

So who do we go after at QB?

Sanchez got a contract extension -- maybe we can trade for Tebow

I love DB and want him to retire a Saint more than anything, however I am siding with the organization on this one.

the amount he wants would leave no slary cap room for improving the team in other areas. In fact we would probably loose some of what we already have. It would gut the team. What he is asking, the Saints couldn't reasonably pay. He knows the saints can't pay what he is asking. It says to me he doesn't want to be here. His 3rd child is due.

That's the way I see it. Being the highest paid QB, having that much guaranteed money, and a huge signing bonus should be enough.

F THAT, He brought this city and team from rust to gold and won us a d*mn Super Bowl, n we all know we will be in contention for another for some years, pay the man his money cause your not going to get anything better,go trade for tim tebich n see wat u get. Yall crying cause he want more, first what would u do if you were him... Wait don't answer that you're not him. Pricks. And its true he would be who he is without sean payton and the oc but no other qb would be who he is in this system,

I heard he is building a compound to provide all the stray puppies in the pound a place to run free and be happy.

Well that settles it. No way we have the cap room to sign Drew, Baylen, Bowen, and a child to be named later.

Look, I'm not a Tom Brady fan. But He has 3 Superbowl Rings, and the contract in which Drew was offered would have made him the highest paid QB in the NFL. MORE THAN BRADY! Not to mention a huge signing bonus! I love Drew and want him to retire here, but that doesn't mean he should get a king's ransom that will set the franchise back!

Tom Brady did win 3 superbowls but that was 9 years ago, in the last 2 tries he couldn't bring home the bacon. Tell me how will it set back the franchise, statistics and all, see if you know what you're talking about

I really don't care what his image is around the country. My opinion is all that matters to me. As long as he's winning football games for us he's alright.
