Well he should. Loomis should've been fired by the Saints organization years ago. I don't care what anyone says he's a terrible GM.

There are worse options out there. Look at Atlanta and TD

Well it certainly isn't as dumb as grading a draft class 15 minutes after the draft ends...
For 2016. Per the article, the Saints have the fourth highest strength of schedule facing opponents with a .547 winning percentage (140-116). The team takes on the NFC West, AFC West, Detroit Lions, and New York Giants in addition to their six NFC South conference games.
Last season, the New Orleans Saints had the fifth lowest strength of schedule (.429). Obviously, that didn’t do them any favors after turning in a 7-9 record. So, maybe it’s a good thing that the team has to play some harder opponents on paper.

Don't understand the constant complaints about this signing. We got a good deal on a veteran defensive quarterback
The complaints stem from him being the worst graded LB last season coupled with missing out on Danny travatheon and jerrell freeman, who are superior players on great deals... Which will also spark Fleener hate, bc his money could've been used there

But ask yourself, would fleener or trevathan help more?
Posted on 5/19/16 at 2:32 pm to htran90
Trevathan without hesitation, but the player has to want to come here. People can point and say "Man, for this money we could have gotten so and so" when we were never on that players radar.

Didn't Trevathan play in a 3-4 and just chose a team playing 3-4?
Posted on 5/19/16 at 2:43 pm to Chad504boy
Yeah, but he could have easily played a 4-3 WILL.

Ellerbe's position?
The upgrade Fleener made at TE after losing Watson is much bigger than upgrade Trevathan could have made over Ellerbe.

He could have played MIKE too. Bottom line it would have improved our overall talent at linebacker which has been lacking. He could hold down either spot for years. Right now we just have short term fixes.

well hooman and hill are short term, i think coby's value is being undervalued a bit in this discussion. JL will probably have more tackles than DT year 1.
we just need to hope that Jack fellar will drop to us at 12 during draft.

Yeah, because everyone knew Byrd's outcome in New Orleans at the time of his signing. Jesus, he was a top flight, pro bowl corner that was signed to be a dynamic game changer on D. When he signed here it was huge and not one fricking person thought it was a terrible signing. Now that he has not played up that contract and has been a huge disappointment, it is somehow the Saints fricking fault and they get pile driven for it? Man, come the frick on. You may have an argument on Gallette, but even then he got paid and then just self destructed. Still no fault of the Saints. But flame on.....
Barnwell did and said it repeatedly, just FYI...

Well Bill Barnwell can suck a dick!

I'm not sure the talent difference in the NFL is that extreme. I just get the feeling that the roster moves we make really won't matter that much if Dennis Allen can out coach his offensive counterparts from week to week
The last two years it just seems like we've been unprepared, outcoached, and clueless on the defensive side of the ball. I know some of the guys we have now can play, and we've also added some more solid defenders. I really think this year is all on Dennis Allen
Not sure how you could say this sort of thing. It is borderline impossible not to see the sort of personnel the Panthers, Broncos, Bills, Seahawks, etc of the world have and simply chalk-up our deficiencies to coaching. I don't think Ryan was any defensive savant, but he was also building with playdough, not marble.

Barnwell has made no bones for several years how much he hates the way Loomis operates the Saints and Pelicans. No matter what we do, Barnwell was going to hate it.
And he is 100% correct
