I'm fine with Peat and Kikaha being rotational players, I think that was the expectation going into the offseason. Especially considering the fact tackle and Rush LB/DE are two of the harder positions to make a day 1 leap to stardom.

I do expect Anthony to be a Day 1 starter, considering the fact typically athletic AND smart MLBs that get drafted that early tend to make an impact right away. Considering his two competitions aren't true mikes, it would be a devastating failure on his part to not.

Spot pass rusher sure but being an every down player, even as a pass rusher, often takes more time. You have to learn to run fits and how to play with leverage on the edge.

Edit:
Not to mention most college pass rushers got by on physical talent with little technique. Many of these players fail because they never become better technicians. Ask Jarvis Jones how he's been doing.

If it was, there wouldn't be a premium cost for them since you can pluck one out of the draft so easily.

Jarvis Jones was never a great physical specimen to begin with despite his huge sack numbers at UGA.

His 4.88 40 yard dash at Georgia's Pro Day wasn't impressive but his short shuttle of 4.71 was terrible. That lets you know he can't move his feet quickly in space. There are DT & NT in the league with better short shuttle times than Jarvis Jones.

LINK

Example: Saints UDFA DT Bobby Richardson ran a 4.41 in the short shuttle at the combine this past year. So far it's been reported he has an extremely quick first step & burst getting up the field.

@LarryHolder: Anthony Spencer, Davis Tull are still out.

@LarryHolder: Dannell Ellerbe still not practicing.
