WARNING: Fletcher Mackel article in the blind link.

"Unhappy" because Jrue plans to test the FA market.

Coming from Fletch, who wants us to re-sign Jimmer, and hire Becky Harmon as HC.

He would love it man. Just LOVE IT.

Look...I'm happy that local guys actually cover the team, and I'm glad Fletch is passionate about it, but he is extremely clueless about the NBA.

Even at his best Eric Gordon was nothing like these two players.

Fletcher gonna Fletch.

Fletcher Mackel is the worst kind of NBA guy, and this article is a bunch of nothing.

Strip away all the bullshite and it's what every single person already knows: Jrue will test free agency to gauge his value (as every player should, in my opinion). The Pelicans want to sign him at a bit of a discounted rate. The end.

They have two offers on the table to him, as I have been telling you for weeks, and they are fully understanding of the fact Jrue wants to look around

They will try to create some leverage to make him decide quicker, but this is business. Makes no sense for him to commit now and Pels get that

Not gonna bother reading his nonsense past the headlines.

Not sure how you afford JJ either?

Though in some weird hypothetical where we move money around, I wouldn't be opposed to letting Jrue walk, signing a cheap PG like Collison, going after Reddick, then looking to move a first for a longer term SF.

What's the difference between the 2 offers?

Is JJ even on the radar or is it assumed he would cost too much?

I just hope they don't overpay him. He's above average but not the guy that is going to put this team over the contender hump.

You know of a guy who will "put them over the contender hump" for the minimal amount of money they will be able to spend if he walks?

I agree, plus this FA class is not good. However, I would hate to tie up future cap room (and therefore lose any flexibility) by overpaying him on a long-term deal.
