I'd rather get an assistant or hoiberg. Gentry as a hc has been nothing but a failure

I'm not pimping Gentry, but it is fair to say that context is everything in as far as his record is concerned.

would certainly like this over Thibs.

In what?
I know you're not talking about coaching in the NBA.

Gentry as a head coach here makes no sense. Another damn Demps move. I wonder who he owes a favor to?

Gentry's 12 year record:

Games wins Loses Winning Percent
Career 705 335 370 .475

The man is a loser.

John Reid doing some good reporting...

...

The Pelicans also have interest in Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, sources confirm.

...

New Orleans, however, is not limiting its search to only former or current NBA head coaches. Sources confirmed they are also giving consideration to veteran NBA assistants, like Gentry, and they will also possibly give consideration to a few top-notch college coaches looking to make the jump to the NBA.

...
Kentucky basketball spokesman Eric Lindsey said Wednesday under their school policy they don't comment about job openings.

But sources indicate Calipari may have interest in the Pelicans' job. However, how much would owner Tom Benson be willing to pay to land Calipari?

Arizona coach Sean Miller also has been mentioned as a possible candidate. But Arizona basketball spokesman Cory Walton confirmed Monday that Arizona has not received a request from the Pelicans to speak with Miller.

Are you high bro? Gentry makes more sense than Thibs. This team is built to run.

You can say Gentry is a bad coach, blah blah blah. But his ''12 seconds and under'' offense would fit well here,IMO.

Meeting with Gentry tonight in San Fran... LINK

Woj bombs all over the place...

quote:

Gentry is selling the idea of bringing an offensive system to New Orleans that would benefit star Anthony Davis, in part the way he did for NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry under Steve Kerr with the Warriors, league sources said.

...
New Orleans has an interest in Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, but that intrigue belongs more with Loomis than Demps, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Thibodeau is waiting for the Bulls to initiate conversations about his future with the franchise, sources said. He has two years left on his contract.

New Orleans has also been making calls on former Houston Rockets and New York Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy, league sources said. New Orleans has an interest with former Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks too, sources said.

I would be pretty upset if we hired Gentry. I'd rather Monty.

Um.. you do know Gentry himself made the WCF in 2010? They even swept the spurs in the 2nd round.

Larry Brown. Wins a title at 77. It will be amazing.

ETA: My post just before this one is probably funnier.

All in for Gentry and Adams or Thibs and whoever. I don't really want Gentry without a star defensive assistant.
